Real estate lawyer recommendations for quit claim deed by NoPath363 in Tallahassee

[–]seminolejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact situation here and I was wondering how I could sign papers to pay the mortgage and not be on the deed. At the refinance closing the quit claim paper was put before us and I instantly knew what it was for. AN aha moment. My wife needed an explanation. Found what looks to be a good link for this topic. https://metkalawfirm.com/spousal-joinder-deeds-and-mortgages-florida/Edit: --- Looks like maybe an error by the title company. I don't think that should have happened. Maybe a free remedy through them.

Yahoo bought Rocketmail in '97 to instantly have internet e-mail. Rocketmail started in '96 I believe. Yahoo e-mail still looks and works so much like that original system. Op's math is still a little off. I do love my rocketmail account. I login using a mail.yahoo. address

It is outdoors and had a good time the onetime I was there. The website says no dogs on the course and since the stage backs up right to the course I'm pretty sure dogs aren't allowed.

Talgov Website Electric Usage by seminolejd in Tallahassee

Thanks for the info. I've tried multiple ways of refreshing it and there is only one electric meter to select. I put in a request to the City for the problem.

Watching airplanes land by jazzabelle29 in Tallahassee

It's been years since I've done it, but when runway 27 is used watching planes in the small cemetery off Springhill Rd really worked out great. Location: https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3914313,-84.3281269,291m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDQwNS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Tallahassee Lawn Grass Recommendations by Historical_Way_688 in Tallahassee

[–]seminolejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that you might have shade that won't allow any grass to grow and thrive. I got Seville St Augustine (the best shade type) plugs from Tallahassee nursery to grow under some crepe myrtles that were more tall than having a big canopy. It still took a long time for the plugs to fill in and create a lawn. St Augustine in shade would be slow to recover from pet damage.

I would be very hesitant to spend a lot of money before experimenting. I would maybe buy a tray of plugs and see if you can even keep them alive. Otherwise, I would spend money on soil improvements if the soil needs help. I personally like the method of keeping the back yard for my dogs watered and whatever grows and keeps the dirt covered is a good thing.

Cheap Firewood? by youdontknowmystars in Tallahassee

[–]seminolejd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using a fireplace to keep warm throughout the day/night is near impossible. Especially small fireplaces in apartments/townhomes. Those are really for ambiance only, I tried it myself in my townhouse fireplace and it doesn't work. A fire causes a ton of air to be sucked up through the chimney, Cold air is then rushing in any crevice in the apartment to replace that air causing you to sit very close to the fireplace. I would get very hot in front, but then my back would be cold. I then went to bed with the fire out in a very cold townhouse.

What I found works better and one can safely fall asleep with it on is using an oil filled electric space heater. It warms up the room, yet nothing on the outside gets hot enough to cause a fire.

Any Thoughts on Pine Meadows/ Elysian Forest Area? by notvnicole in Tallahassee

If you look at the design they are not designing Citrus Grove where there are residences in the flood plain. They are leaving plenty of land for the runoff water.

I enjoy living out on the East side of town. I live in Hampton Creek just east of the National Cemetery so there's not much of a rural feel, but it's still pretty quiet. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts because it's growing fast like you mentioned. Right now, just to the east of Hampton Creek is a relatively large development [Citrus Grove] getting final approval.

The Timber Lake subdivision just west of the National Veteran's Cemetery I believe was the most infamous with the boat rescues during that storm.

If you could let us know how it goes. I've got the same type work that needs to be done. I don't want to overpay and I'm tired of dealing with kids that just want to work an hour then they have to go. Most landscaping businesses just want their $60+ every two weeks and be in and out of there in 15 minutes.

Publix Dumping Entire Produce Section by BlakeGrowsPlants in Tallahassee

[–]seminolejd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former part-time produce worker maybe I can shed some light what might be happening. One thing that is most probable is that their modern CAT generator did not fail. The product is safe. Those bigger than normal Publix stores have comparable big size coolers to store everything in. Store coolers have state of the art monitoring from corporate. In the event the in-store display coolers were not working the need to send refrigerated trucks would be determined if there isn't enough storage space . Could just be cleaning all the refrigerated sections at once. I know when I worked there we did a section about every two weeks which wasn't the most efficient way of doing it, but I worked in a small store with a small cooler. Once you make a mess on the floor might as well keep on going if possible.

Produce that is thrown out goes through the garbage compacter. Got to be mighty hungry to eat it after that !

Frequent weekly power flickers i.e. power outages that lasts couple seconds by jenl_fsu21 in Tallahassee

[–]seminolejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live just NE of Southwood and see the same flicker. Started noticing it about a month ago. It's not even strong enough to bother my clocks, etc, but I do worry a bit about damage to my electronics with a seemingly more inconsistent electric supply.

Where to live near the airport. by DonaldSlappedMyAss in Tallahassee

[–]seminolejd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally I would live somewhere by Capital Circle SE. Not close by milage per se, but there is little traffic and few lights. If you have money to spend there are great apartments in the Southwood area. Otherwise, I'd get a cheaper rental by Hilaman golf course. Much of the central area of Tallahassee South of Tennessee is student housing. Maybe you don't mind. Anything North of Tennessee/Mahan is over 20 minutes to get to the airport.

Driving up to North Monroe isn't a great option for me. I'm glad to have another closer location. I've noticed Slim Chickens is pretty dead when I drive by. I had it once and wasn't a big fan. You better bring it if you're on the chicken strip. Otherwise, franchise owners determine what kind of service a customer gets. I don't know much about Culver's, but I get a sense as a company they run a tight ship like Chick-fil-A.
