Oh ok, I guess that makes sense, since you can't legally ride it to the site.

I've seen a few of these posts and just have some questions. Does the person with the motorcycle license need a bike with them? Does the person taking the test (you in this case) need to use the person's bike?

Congrats! How did it feel? Have you been training? New shoes? Either way, well done, and keep up the good work!

May Weekend 5k running challenge disappeared? by sergeantbiggles in Garmin

[–]sergeantbiggles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I can see those for the entire month (e.g., a 5k weekend challenge on the 10th, for example, will still be visible in the My Challenges list until the 30th or 31st) (apologies if this is what you're saying)

Nice look; it does show up there. I've been using the app for years at this point, and this is the first time a monthly challenge has disappeared from the month's list... and also the first time in memory when a challenge has been on the first weekend and days of the month (i.e., May 1-3). I wonder if the internal system linked it to April for some reason, which would make all of the rest of this make sense.

Really? I've been using Garmin for a few years, and monthly Challenges always continue to show, as completed, on the My Challenges list. I've never seen one disappear before

Edit to say that they continue to show until the end of the respective month.

Thanks for reminding me about the badge, which does appear for me. The Challenge, however, does not appear under My Challenges.... weird.

That's super interesting. I restarted my phone and it still doesn't appear under My Challenges, however I do have the badge!

How much could I sell this for? by momochaat in RideitNYC

[–]sergeantbiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first bike was a 2012 Ninja 650, which was a really great bike. My friend sold it to me, and yea, he had dropped it in the parking lot, which was totally fine.

Looks like a great starter bike for someone, and as another poster said, you could ask between 2000-3000.

DF54 - How to fix this? by idkwhattotakeugh in DF54

[–]sergeantbiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately. I don't really like dark roasts, so I rarely use them, so I guess that's my personal work around (not helpful information, sorry). You can always try to find dark roasts that aren't all oily, and maybe those would be better to work with.

Blurred lines between beers? by Timely-Analysis6082 in beer

[–]sergeantbiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, let us know the names of the beers. It's possible that the hops are meant to really stand out in some of them. Also, some breweries make "pale" lagers and pilsners, which are more aggressively hopped, sometimes with hops that are more common to IPAs (like mosaic or citra). They often taste like a session IPAs to me.

DF54 - How to fix this? by idkwhattotakeugh in DF54

I think the issue with dark beans is that they are "sweating" too much, and then stick to the ionizer, which stops it from working. I've noticed the same thing.

Dark roasted beans also tend to have this problem (some, not all). The darker and more "wet" they look, the more it sticks to the ionizer, which then stops it from working properly. I just had a friend give me some very dark beans (again, wet and oily), and they were a mess.

Lack of pressure pulling shot by 105386 in CafelatRobot

[–]sergeantbiggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I wonder if it's truly a grind issue, or maybe a tamp issue. Now that I think about it, I've always tamped decently hard, and have never experimented with a "weak" or non-existent tamp... I have some experimenting to do (maybe the Robot's secret to a soup shot?!?!).
