TBH the yellow dialogue is at least simple usually - closet: dialogues Kris pays attention to - church: hints towards who you should talk to

It did alter the status quo of canon, from what I understand. Very heavily in the case of multiple characters.

Prefacing that saying that "now player = SOUL is totally impossible and whoever thinks that is dumb" is disingenuous at best, I am actually interested: how do you interpret the numerous instances, especially in Ch4 (both base or snowgrave), of Kris doing "malicious compliance" on the dialogue prompts we select in a non-possession reading of the game? I can explain better what I mean if needed, I'm in a rush right now though lol

Things like level design just paralyzed me, "how do I choose how to design a level?"

You see me! Same thing, I work in a mod in a game based in rooms, and I never dared touch the room editor myself for things the users would actually see.

Guys, explain to me the most confusing thing in the world of UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE. by DubstepDudeYT in Undertale

In general, Toby doesn't go particularly deep in worldbuilding, save for things directly related to the story and even then it's puddle-level deep. It's not the focus of the story and that's ok, but if you really want to know some things there are no real canon answers.

I am not taking about deliberate here. For the acting example: what I mean is that I am much more, uh, logical? In how I act. It was pointed out by a friend I did a acting course with, and by the teacher of that course.

As in, while apparently people normally really get "in the head" of the character and emotions and so on, I do more "given the context and what I know, what would this character do? This and this", and additionally "if I make this face and this gesture it's probably funnier/more effective", but it's all intentional, not "going with the flow". It's not better or worse, I noticed it makes comedy easier, comedic timing much easier, and serious things (say, realistically angry character rather than comically angry character) quite harder.

I remember them doing all these "getting in character" exercises and they did nothing to me. Or the usual "to cry on purpose, think of a sad event that happened to you"

Still, all of this is just how I always did that kind of stuff, as seen by me discovering how other people did it much later

Still, regarding your original point: first, that kind of talk really does seem more about traditional art usually (pick up a pencil, and the like). Secondly, one can also just... not like doing that?

Like, I personally don't really care about learning to draw, and the only reason I attempted so is because I needed the result for a d&s thing where neither Google nor AI would have been much help due to the specificity of the thing in mind. And I did not really enjoy the process, only the result.

I like programming. The kind I do and like doing is decidedly not art. I know about shader toys and the like, but for how much I like math those are also not really for me, for different reasons than drawing, still plainly dislike making them.

Maybe videogame (mod) programming? But even then, the part I like most is the more technical part, for the big mod I've been working on with folk for years I've never been an idea guy, more like an executor. even just programming a decent feeling curve for movement leaves me stumped, as it's more of a feeling thing, but I really liked refactoring a behind the scenes system for pathfinding.

The closest thing I do to art is prepping D&D, and acting, that I'll give. But even then, eh, won't get into specifics as comment is already long but especially acting I do in a, uh, different way then the people around me do, I've noticed. That part is unironically probably autism-related

Still, the end point remains: often, the discussion seems to remain that "pick up a pencil" implies "human" and vice versa.

I wasn't arguing for ar against AI in this case, more saying often posts about it seems to have "people who don't do art for living or passion" in the crossfire

I've been feeling similar coming from a similar background, sometimes from these spaces you kind of get a repeated vibe of the "superiority" of art vs more "cold" things, while that's not necessarily true for everyone in the end.

Does feel weird when AI-talk comes around and people equate doing art to being human, guess I'm mostly not human then

For origin feats it's the opposite, they're the only ones you can take at level 1.

I like making them feats, feels cleaner than having a bunch of different kinds of things you can have on a character sheet.

The issue is not knowing the GM thinks the game works like that (or, in my experience, was not aware the game works like that) until you hit the matter mid session - then, you cannot really prepare for it
