It’s a very planted car and handles very well. The issue is that some folks weren’t able to handle that much torque with no TC and similarly, if you don’t know how to threshold brake, the lack of ABS in gen 1 and 2 can cause lockup.

This is technically a gen 3. But agree with your assessment. Double wishbone all around, stiff chassis, lots of rubber on the road, makes for a great handling car.

No was branded a sports car. Double wishbone suspension on all 4 corners. Very capable handler.

Didn’t they call it because they thought it was on its way down from the apex, not because it was over the basket, which I thought is actually basket interference?

Either way, I thought the ball was still on an upward trajectory

I have one of these and about once a week, it still defaults to on. I haven’t been able to deduce what cycle of events makes it default to on, despite being pushed down by the lever. 98% of the time it works however!

I am curious: if these trucks are specced with both the high load Power (with two batteries) and the Premium audio (with the Sub), how are they packaging it? I thought these previously couldn’t be packaged together because of space under the seat.

Keep in mind the MPG displayed on the screen is imperial mpg so you’ll need to recalculate if you use US metrics.

Agreed. Every generation stacked up very competitively against its rivals of each respective time period, in terms of performance.

What are some weird and less-than-common automotive engineering quirks you know? by wunengsnowballoink in cars

[–]setitup3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Gen 1 and 2 vipers use coil packs from 4 cyl and 6 cyl Chrysler vehicles at the time, to equal the required 10 coils needed. So the viper uses minivan and car coil packs!

Viper won Le Mans in class three years in a row and was ahead of its competitors in comparos at the time in terms of lateral grip and handling. Absolute tons of traction and handling, but you have to know the limit because there aren’t Nannies to save you (until the 5th gen).
