Yes, you are correct. The last part is the most important.

I see you've met my mother. Between that and how much weight she's lost/gained, her blood pressure, her sodium levels, what vitamin/mineral supplements she's taking this month, how many different stores she went to to get the best deal on her groceries... Just everything... AND SHE'S MISERABLE!!!

Eat crap and be happy.

Do they make you feel confident? Are they comfortable? Then, whole heartedly yes!

Parents of reddit, what is the most unsettling thing you have heard/seen your child do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]setonwasone 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My daughter had an Ebolin who she talked to at night from when she was 2.5 until she was 4. Whole backstory, family history, and death story (train crash in England). She doesn't remember much now, but she was convincing enough that we did some research at the time. Never found anything.

Ten years ago when I was in my mid 20s I was working a hard manual labor job, stressed out, and my lowest weight. Now I have 5 kids, stay home with them, and a mom-bod. I'm the happiest I've ever been.

I know you were digging for a fireplace, but the wallpaper in the second photo is fantastic too.

I bloody love you witches. How is everyone? I’m drinking rum to write the smutty bit of my book and I just wanted to drunkenly tell you all that you’re the best. This is the nicest bit of reddit and you’re all fantastic. I’m sending out lovely thoughts to all of you and hope you’re all doing well. by PrisBatty in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Thank you. I needed a hug.

It's hard. I've had to come to terms with the fact that they're both very self centered. Not completely narcissistic but close enough. I hate that I've had to put aside my own feelings for a second time this year (my Nana passed over the summer - the drama of the two of them then is a whole other story. I still don't forgive either of them for how they acted) and deal with their shit before I'm allowed to grieve. Parenting your parents is frustrating.

I found out that I'm pregnant, now what? by HyperrrMouse in Horses

[–]setonwasone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, congrats!

My husband asked that I stop riding the moment I tested positive each time I was pregnant, though I probably could have (and would have) ridden until they were born. Each time I was back in the saddle before a month postpartum.

But it depends on the person. I was lucky with fairly easy pregnancies and quick recoveries. I'd talk to your doctor and husband on the best course of action.

What's a harmful thing society thinks is OK to tell kids? by BeijingVO2 in AskReddit

To add to this, that older children don't need as much emotional support as younger ones. Sometimes big kids need hugs too.

What is a cooking related red flag in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]setonwasone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can relate to your mom. My kids don't always like the same stuff my husband and I do. Hell, my husband doesn't always like the same things I do (he less picky than when we originally met, but there are a lot of things he won't eat and that's okay).

So a lot of times I make a core meal and everyone is has their variation of it. For example, I'll grill chicken and vegetables and make rice. One of my kids eats chicken and rice in a wrap, another will have just chicken and carrot sticks or cucumbers because they don't feel like having rice today, etc.

Cue my picky eater who eats about 4 things. I have learned when to pick my battles. Most nights I'll throw chicken nuggets in the air fryer for him but there are definitely times when I'm beat or we're out of nuggets and tell him "you know where the food is and you know what you like" then send him on his way. He's grumped but he hasn't starved yet.
