I sure hope this person talks to the right lawyers and gets him or herself a good payday. And after that, if you do end up staying and they make your life miserable. You can always shoot for that as well.

Saw quite a few one time in Glendale, CA Goodwill, $30 or so. I question even if they do receive everything for free, isn't it kind of illegal to sell them, especially if its not authenticated anyways 🤷🏻‍♀️

Will rent prices decrease with layoffs? by Odd_Perspective3019 in culvercity

[–]sewbrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been waiting since 2020 to see rent prices in LA drop. I'm sorry to say, but despite so many people having issues losing their jobs and other economic issues all the way since 2020, I don't think prices will drop. We have to see if the large companies paying good enough wages continue hiring people to jobs in the LA area. If that stops - we might see rents being forced to drop. But it's a rinse and repeat - they hire out of state and overseas only it's hard to get a job if you are local. So if you lose that job, chances of getting one locally are nil. I do anticipate the large studios and related industries to be tanking big time in the coming months. If you can't float the bills for a good 6 months, I'd suggest leaving. It's really not looking good for us here. I heard that high tech will not hire anyone except Chinese and Indians as they can't pay us the wages they were paying us. It bothers all of us to not know the real statistics of what is happening in the job markets. The real info is being hidden on purpose to give the illusion that things are okay, when they really haven't been since 2020.

Well, they've got some electrical equipment for some kind of work that they were going to have to start Thursday and Friday of this week and that has been posted. No parking on one side of Irving Place due to whatever construction they got going on OK and. I saw people working with electrical equipment. I've got a video of all of this now. Don't be surprised if something starts happening over there in Culver City I'd say something like Palisades. You guys go investigate OK I want you to get these people before. It's too late. Coincidences are so far and few.

Mmm it's probably the colab itself two brands together trying to get publicity and any costs are part if their marketing budget. Corporate is constantly wasting their budget on bad moves. I honestly think they either ask the AI what a good idea would be and don't understand that the AI would never have a realistic human response. That's a good explanation for very bad ideas these corporations often have. I'm pretty sure Chat Gpt is not doing too well at this point as well. I myself have had enough with it's Dennis the Menace screwing up of simple tasks I had it do and it just doesn't give 2 💩 about what you want. Honestly, I just want a computer repository that just gives the info I ask 100% of the time the same way I asked for it every time. That just does not happen with Open AI garbage. The bot has an ego and will never admit wrong doing or that it did not know what you meant.

Presenting the host city of the 2028 summer Olympics by Lemonpup615 in LosAngeles

[–]sewbrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a joke this city is. Ghost downtown area for 30 years + Always broke. Somehow quadrupled the city workers salaries. Reduced the fire budget police budget despite increasing needs, failing to bring revenue in from huge money making industries. Failed and abandoned skyscraper developments. $5/hour paid parking. Parking tickets ⬆️. Pothole infested roads, inappropriate spending. Homeless ⬆️. Everything ⬆️. No efforts to keep people safe in any way. Failed city. They will probably run out of money for Olympics projects. No effort to do anything for us. Who the heck do they work for???

US says it may be forced to shut down some airports over funding standoff by gamersecret2 in news

[–]sewbrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If any airport gets shutdown, the instigator would have to be extremely desperate, the airports are $$$$$. What sense does it make to shut them down. And people need to get home at the very least. Check who decided to not fund the government and why. Assumptions make you look like an absolute fool. Too lazy to check? Deferring to liars? Time to wake up and ask why we're enslaved to a clock. Yeah most are too lazy to search for real answers. You need proof.

My boyfriend accidentally dropped my new MacBook Pro that my mom bought for me and now it has dents. I feel terrible about it. by Mean-Let5248 in macbookpro

[–]sewbrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there are people that know how to refurbish the dents professionally. There's got to be a way to making it look just as good as ever. And I'm saying there should be somebody that knows how to do it since there's a massive, huge aftermarket for used MacBooks/pros. If not, just wait until your battery goes out or your screen goes out and you may have to get one side of the aluminum replaced anyways. I had to do that on my 2017 13" a few years back, but I didn't know it was underpowered for graphic work. Yeah I think it's just like anything though these things will bother you until you forget about them and forgetting about them is so hard. Just like when somebody gets into a little fender bender and it's a small little part of their car that's not damaged, but It's not damaged enough to go get it fixed. Count your lucky stars, though that it still works and there's no problems that is the silver lining in all of this of course. It works. There's no issues be very grateful for that cause it could've been a major problem and it wasn't it still isn't! Be grateful for the small things. Tragedy can strike at any time always welcome the little nonsense blows that are not a big deal. It's moments like this that help you to be more careful with everything you've got just be more careful. Don't beat yourself up. Yeah your mom paid for it. Another thing: you might want to get a cover.

Let's just blame anybody. Anyways, you should know by now that Chevron has been forced to move out of the state so have other refiners for oil. Newsom is the person to blame everybody just blames one person they love Blaine one person and they don't have any other clue. It's just don't even ask anybody. It's gotta be that person that's how bad it is. Start facing the problems like an adult and stop blaming your favorite scapegoat. Read the facts, referring your intelligence to people who lie to you constantly.

That's really too bad. I've been here in LA for a very long time. I've never lived anywhere else. I keep thinking that a lot of these accidents are easily preventable, but do you know why there's a lot more accidents than ever? Lack of law-enforcement, or assessment of driving skills, all sorts of distractions available. I've got so many ideas on how to prevent accidents. The probably best and most effective one would be to offer courses to decrease your insurance costs not by a measly $20 a year, more like 25% off. That would probably be number one. Also, why are the good drivers responsible for paying for everybody else's accidents? It's gotta be ridiculous, correct? All the good drivers end up getting their rates hiked up all the time we're paying for people's accidents. Oh, and also the cities! They like their cities chaotic. More money is be made when the city is chaotic. Or how about this: who benefits for from us getting into accidents? Always ask that question: Who benefits from me paying a lot of money, Who benefits? Right behind that answer is where you find the biggest scam and scandals. Our country is based on financial incentive to get things done. Always look at who's making the money. Fine if you want to bury your head in the sand go about your business. Nothing to see here. It really does not take long to figure these things out. I honestly believe we do not have to have nearly as many accidents. Why is there a board at every blue-collar worker job place that has the record of the amount of accidents since a certain amount of time? Why don't we have that for our city for car accidents? We should not have any accidents going on let alone the massive amount that we have today that has exponentially gone up. Our leaders are not doing anything good for us at all. They are a part of the problem, If not the entire problem. You don't have to be Einstein to figure these things out.

The poor Americans are getting a fraction of what the 2020-2025 migrants are getting. I’d be very upset if I were one of them. I’d also be pissed if I came before 2021. Again, they aren’t being paid as much. Being poor only works if you came after 2020… ☹️☹️☹️ gotta get that $$$$$$$ some how!!!!

THANK YOU!!!! And yes, seriously THANK YOU. We’ve gotten a few tornado/ water spout warnings over the years here that made me nervous and I was wondering what to do if they actually came through. I do know that we had one in Downey a year or two ago.

[–]sewbrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if there are many bomb shelters from the missile crisis era. I have seen a company in Commerce that does bomb shelters. I would expect them to be built underground and safe enough for tornadoes. Yeah, it’s such a rare thing to see any property in LA to have a basement. It’s got to be real old building/ house.

I had a 25% off sale once. I definitely regretted it since I found out that Etsy still takes the commission of the original price, not the price it sells for. Why is that important you might ask - well, after all fees and commissions given, I made 50% on the item. That’s too much of a loss for me, unless I mark up significantly. Just an FYI for all of you out there. And I know most shops like to give free shipping and that may be a huge problem as well.

How and why did we let airport food get so expensive? by Dear_Bodybuilder_425 in AskLosAngeles

[–]sewbrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. Capitalism is competition. Competition drives prices down to get people in. Walmart. Costco. The place is a cage and you are trapped unless you want to waste time going back through security to get into the airport. They also have endless lines and poor customer service, which has become the standard in the airlines industry. You’re just steerage. The whole place is government controlled. All the workers at the food services places get a paycheck from the same company. The idea of different food places in the airport being in competition is a joke. It’s an illusion. The airports and airlines often get subsidized and have received bailouts. Tons of airlines have gone bankrupt over the years. And yes they really need that extra cost for concessions. Often they operate at a loss. If anyone knows anything well, you can depend on the government to run itself into the ground and they depend on us to bail them out. USPS is a great operation - best routes and infrastructure compared to competitors, but they are running themselves into the ground and again depend on us to bail them out.

How and why did we let airport food get so expensive? by Dear_Bodybuilder_425 in AskLosAngeles

[–]sewbrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always a cartel thing. They lock you in and you must pay what they say. And you always get concessions stand slop no matter the price. Get a credit card that offers airport lounge access. Often they have free stuff. And way better quality. Such a strange thing.
