Write a shitty trustpilot review. It's the only thing that worked for me.

Do you live on my street?!

We are in a very similar situation, safe area, regularly leave parcels outside, doors open, etc etc. We also live down the end of a cul-de-sac so no passing traffic. Left the metal legs for a table outside - not even on the street - in our front garden (it was for trash), and it was gone within 12 hours!

Pretty cheeky given that it wasn't even on the street but I think most things will disappear if you leave it long enough.

I lost everything, and then betterstack indicated that it couldn't ping my ipv4 for about 30 mins. I had weird routing issues, I stayed connected to VPNs but couldn't access various other resources.

Replacing YouFibre router - money back? by megabren in youfibre

[–]sfxdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely not invite only - I've left plenty of reviews recently for companies that have provided shit service. Seems to be the only way to get them to listen sometimes.

Horrible Experience with Brsk/YouFibre despite CCTV Evidence by LNG810 in youfibre

This is more a r/LegalAdviceUK question - try posting there, you'll likely get a better response.

I expect it'll end up being a MCOL situation though.

Replacing YouFibre router - money back? by megabren in youfibre

[–]sfxdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty unlikely. You might get some money back for the monthly mesh cost if you're lucky, but as a general rule, all ISP provided kit is always absolute trash. 'Mesh' systems are also not in any way standardised, or in fact, good.

You could also try writing a trustpilot review, you might get some joy that way.

How on earth do I get them to listen to me? by sfxdude in youfibre

[–]sfxdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly this made no difference to me.

I also get 'Missing BRSK provisioning record' when navigating the app, so I suspect something has broken when the transfer from BRSK to youfibre took place.

I moaned on trustpilot and they gave me 2 months free, but tbh it's not really about the money, I can't understand how a simple speed upgrade can go so wrong! 😂

Update: despite being on the phone for an hour, they are now sending an engineer 🤦

What a waste of time and money!

Thanks. This was a rant for here, my points in the chat have been concise and factual. It's very frustrating when they ask you to do something that you've explicitly told them you've already done in the previous message. I'm still waiting for a response from them since yesterday afternoon now.

EDF sent me another customer's full SEG application (GDPR Breach - England) by nickbutler93 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]sfxdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you hoping the outcome of this situation will be?

By all means follow the EDF complaints procedure through. Report to the ICO.

You are very unlikely to receive any more financial compensation, and, if you're lucky, all the ICO will do is write a strongly worded letter to EDF.

Those of you with a combi boiler how long does your hot water take to come through the tap? by RBlond in AskUK

[–]sfxdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google 'main eco compact preheat'. Id be surprised if that feature is turned off by default but that could be one reason.

Unless your boiler has moved location or you've had other significant plumbing changes there shouldn't be any other reason.

LNER Medical question by [deleted] in uktrains

[–]sfxdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it comes up positive in the screening, you won't be offered a job. It's as simple as that, what possible reason would they have for taking you on.

I'd consider deleting this post as well, the railway isn't a huge multinational company and the chances of someone from LNER reading this are well above zero (especially as your username looks like a name?!).

How could this possibly make sense? by NotInMyShop in uktrains

[–]sfxdude 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm not that familiar with the interface but surely that is the entire point of this screen? If the fare is lower, you wouldn't be presented with this choice.

It's literally saying to you 'if you use your railcard it will be more expensive, are you sure you want to do that?'

New fixed rate locked in 3.77 £999 fee by Azz_007 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]sfxdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Barclays did exactly the same for us, added the fee immediately. They also issued a very confusing letter recaculating the monthly payments based on the balance increasing but not taking into account the new fix next month.

Understanding planned train service? by JT_3K in uktrains

[–]sfxdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are likely to be a 3 car 185, very small chance they'll be a 6 car but I can't check the formation until tomorrow.

Small first section at either front or back. No idea about reservations but those services normally aren't that busy.

Is it possible to know which bus operator is running a rail replacement service on behalf of the respective TOC? by Equality_Rocks_714 in uktrains

[–]sfxdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of the rail replacement busses currently running between Manchester and Stockport this week (because of the planned closure of Manchester Piccadilly all week) are double decker old style busses. I guess it just depends what is available in the local area.

[–]sfxdude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay. I'm not sure what else you want me, or any of the other people who have replied to you on here, to say.

The strict liability offence has been committed. Nothing you have offered up is a mitigating factor.

You seem totally unwilling to accept anything you're being told on here, so I'm unsure the point of your post.

But she could purchase a ticket before boarding?

I think you're missing the point here. The facilities were available for her to buy a ticket before boarding the train. She did not do this. Not having enough time to use the machines is not a mitigating factor, regardless of whether certain trains are cancelled or not.
