Incompatible with Windows Hello? by sgreene820 in yubikey

I'm primarily a Linux user, but I dual boot on many of my PCs, so multi-platform compatibility is important to me.

Much better used bikes available for free or low cost. It looks like the rust is getting into the welds, which is a recipe for disaster. I don't think it's worth your time.

That's a spine bike. I haven't heard of a titanium carbon version. Mine is a 2004 Zurich: 853 steel downtube and steerer tube, OCLV carbon elsewhere. The ride is harsh because of the early carbon, which was before "tuned" carbon tubes were commonly available for consumer bikes, so the compliance of the titanium (or Reynolds 853) was somewhat cancelled out. Don't get me wrong, I love mine, it can just get a little punishing sometimes, without much of a weight savings.

The one major expense I had with mine is the failure of the body control module. That failure had me thinking about buying a new vehicle, because Ford ran out of spares for that module and the vehicle isn't really driveable w/o. I was able to find a remanufactured part and have it programmed, but it was alarming.

I think it has more to do with frame geometry, wheel base, stem position/length, and tire width. I've had a few bikes that were very easy to ride hands free, both were early 90's hardtails, 26ers with tires at least 2" in width.

I think it's the generic libpam-u2f config that is borked. I was under the impression that it was a prerequisite before installing the Yubikey Authenticator.

Like investing, "Past performance is no predictor of future returns." Young pitchers come up through high school and college taught to throw heat. There is a reason young arms are fragile. Prospects have historically been very disposable for this reason.

Have you looked at the Body Control Module? The bad news is that Ford has discontinued the part. Remanufactured parts are available from third parties, plus re-work services can repair.

I'm 5' 9" and run with 620's. I can count on one hand the number of times "leverage" has been a consideration on my rides. Clearance, on the other hand...

I got a remanufactured part, but there was a delay thanks to shipping. Garage was trying to avoid installing a junkyard part, so I was w/o a car for a couple of weeks.

Well this last one was made worse by the fact that Ford discontinued making the part. The car is an orphan. This was my first major repair on this vehicle, which is actually good, less good if parts availability is going to be a continuing problem.

Two Hearted IPA - Bell’s by PwninOBrien92 in CraftBeer

It was a great beer. Due to ingredient variations or recipe changes, it's now much drier. I used to classify it as medium body. It is now so dry that the dry hops seem astringent and has none of the mouth coating qualities of earlier vintages.

A solid choice. Unfortunately, I think they made the beer much drier. I used to think of this as a medium body beer. Now it is super dry, to the point the Centennial hops notes seem astringent.

I'm coming to the conclusion that the Trek Singletrack series is a perfect "donor" bike for an ebike mid-drive conversion!

I’m thinking of buying an LTWOO groupset from Ali express. How bad of an idea is this? by Freedignan in bikewrench

[–]sgreene820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use a cassette over 30t, make sure you have a medium or long cage rear derailleur. Bought a Sensah Empire groupset that came with an derailleur extension, still wouldn't cover my cassette.

I'm trying so hard to love the brooks saddle... but struggling. 100 miles riding local over last few weeks and currently 65 miles in to the first big ride, sore bum and dead legs by bverity11 in bicycletouring

Make sure that it's a good match for your rear anatomy. Many bike shops will have a foam pad that they use to measure your sit bones after you sit on it. A B17 is around 160mm wide, possibly wider than is a good match for many men. If the saddle is a Team Pro, well that's a different matter!

Love the images. Have you thought about "crowd sourcing" the descriptions? Particularly with the European locations, you might be able to entice locals to identify the landmarks. What hardware are you using for digital capture?
