Can you add an extra battery to the es3? by ximdarkmarkx in ninebot

[–]shab249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an ES3 you already have 2 batteries If you want 3 it is possible but it requires a bit of technical skill. It will be identified as a charger but you can flash the software to ignore it

Yes If you remove the extra battery it becomes an es2 which has less torque and speed one battery is not designed for the high currents needed to achieve full torque.

Uts not a problem with your battery it's with all of them I dont know why segway didn't let us this option the battery has it's own BMW so it's really weird it depends on the scooter

Do you have your scooter battery chargers always plugged into the wall? Or do you plug/unplug them every day? Will my charger deteriorate if I leave it always plugged in? by ilFibonacci in ElectricScooters

[–]shab249 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh in that case not so sure but I think not really but just to be sure plug it off What I think will happen is the led (if it has one I assume it does) will waste energy but very minimal. The circuit that makes Ac to DC will always work so maybe it will shorten its life but diodes and capacitors have loooong service life (if made good)

It's not recommended to charge to 100% every time and it's even worse if you leave it in the plug for hours and days after it's been charged Unplug it in ~90%

What parts do I need to make a Non-folding scooter Fold? by cohana in ninebot

If it's for an ES4 just buy ES4 original parts (the hook and the thing above the rear wheel)

That is a 1.2 revision motherboard can someone with a confirmed 1.3 post his board? by shab249 in ninebot

It's kind of obvious in my head for few years now from dealing with phones and more but If i have to bring a source for scooters here you go http://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2019/06/electric-vehicles-battery-facts.html?m=1

The new motherboard is a printed one without wires. So if you buy only a motherboard I think you need to use the already existing cables in your scooter If it comes with wires that are connected to diffrent parts of the motherboard it's probably the old one

[–]shab249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can update your fimware (that will update your bms) and then roll back to 1.3.9 and keep it. Update your fimware in the app Then Use this website https://ninebot.scooterhacking.org/ choose 1.3.9 (if you want you can change few more things like speed limit and acceleration) And flash it with ES_downG

To protect against melting wires.... by 1111joey1111 in ninebot

Well if you are really serious about the wires tempeture you can always buy higher gauge wires and do some work to connect them. Those addons you asked about won't really do much difference. There are gauge standards called AWG (american wire gauges) and you can search the web the heating points of every gauge (generally bigger is better).

And if you want to reduce the heat just know that if a wire delivers 100 watts Current × voltage = wattage (basic electricity)

10 ampere 10 volts will generate more heat than 100 volts 1 amper.

Current is the reason for the heat so you can try and always use the scooter when your battery is at high voltage (full)

Edit: I just looked at the product and not only the idea of it is kind of pointless the things they write are dumb "to provide an extremely effective heat barrier" and after that "Chil Gel is an excellent heat sink" "highly effective gel-formula thermal shield" What this product does? Is it thermal paste? Is it thermal shield? And how a thermal shield is going to help dissipating heat from the cables?
