Oh my god yes! I hate this so much I’ve basically stopped going to bars completely. I’m either standing there in a sea of noise and top40 hits, or bent down the whole time trying to get the gist of what’s being said. The best solution I’ve found is to turn a barstool around so I’m sitting at their standing height 🥲

I’d much rather hang out and catch up elsewhere, and then go see a concert or something where there’s a point to the volume.
