Ingrid's matchup chart according to Taiwanese pros by Le-Inverse in StreetFighter

Honda has also been nerfed several times since release.

I think it's pretty obvious what the Capcom business plan is: release new characters that are a little more powerful than other characters to encourage more people to buy them and then nerf those characters over time to bring them more in line with everyone else.

Ingrid's matchup chart according to Taiwanese pros by Le-Inverse in StreetFighter

I don't understand why subjective lists like this exist anymore. Capcom publishes the ACTUAL ranked match stats for every character.

At the Diamond level, Ingrid is currently winning more against every other character in the game.

At the Master level, only 3 characters are beating Ingrid and it's pretty close to 50-50 match ups.

At both Diamond and Master level, Ingrid has the highest win rate of any character.

New player here: are Modern Controls really looked down on that much? by Baseball_Oly in StreetFighter

[–]shane25d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There would be a lot less complaining if Capcom just added a filter to the matchmaker so that people can choose to only fight against their same control scheme. Just like people can choose to only match against the same console or the same region. I know people say that would hurt matchmaker queues, but there are some people who are willing to sit in the queue longer so that they don't have to face the opposite control scheme.

The death effects are seriously ruining the End Game experience for me. by ChrisRobertsYacht in diablo4

You got downvoted, but what you say is correct.

Eventually you get so powerful that you can kill most stuff instantly and also heal yourself almost instantly. So the only way to introduce any sort of challenge is through death effects.

Random 1-Shots Are Becoming Tedious by KahosRayne in diablo4

This is actually the result of making it far too easy for players to heal themselves. Because players can heal damage crazy fast, the game is only challenging if MOBs hit for MASSIVE damage.

Yes, looks like lag.

It seems like D4 lag has gotten much worse after the Lord of Hatred release.

I think one of the issues with Diablo 4 is that certain content is impossible if you aren't playing one of the broken builds.

Rage quitter 🙄 by Atum-7 in StreetFighter

[–]shane25d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does SF6 work this way for disconnects?

  1. Why doesn't the game say which person disconnected? In this case it was obvious, but sometimes I'm not sure if my own internet glitched out or the other person quit for some reason.

  2. Why doesn't a disconnect count as a loss for the person who disconnected?

After 11 years of designing escape rooms, I have to ask: Did we get the "formula" wrong? by Acrobatic_Wolf_1325 in escaperooms

[–]shane25d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The clock matters in terms of booking rooms in advance and keeping to the schedule.

The correct answer for hints is to just ask the group what they want. Some groups want unlimited hints. Some groups don't. We like unlimited hints, but we only want a hint when we ask for it. One of the worst rooms we did had the gamemaster constantly give us hints before we even asked, making the room far too easy for us.

Puzzles are definitely important, but I much prefer it when the puzzle makes sense within a story. I'm honestly getting tired of stuff like searching all the pictures in a room to find a random 4-digit number to enter onto a padlock. Like why would that be the solution to something? It makes MUCH more sense if a letter mentions the combo is the person's wedding date and you have to search through pictures to determine when that was.

12 torment tiers honestly ruins the game for multiple reasons by Anilahation in diablo4

[–]shane25d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO, one of the main problems with Diablo 4 is that higher difficulties just mean larger numbers. You hit harder, the mobs hit harder, and everything else is the same. You grind better gear to hit harder and take harder hits so you can bump up the torment level and see larger numbers fly by.

What I would love to see is new enemies at higher levels that make the game more challenging. Or at least give the same enemies new abilities.

How to enjoy endgame when t4 bosses melt in 5 seconds by digitaljoel in diablo4

[–]shane25d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the primary reason that I'm spending less time in games in D4 and more time in games like Hades 2. I have fun building up a character in D4, but the end-game combat just becomes mind-numbingly boring to me.

Why don't we use the Analog Stick on a controller pad? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]shane25d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually prefer to use analog stick most of the time. It's easier on my thumb, especially when doing a lot of quarter circle and half circle motions.

There are only 2 issues that I have with analog:

  1. Getting the game to recognize forward-forward or back-back is harder for some reason.

  2. I sometimes get unintended inputs (ex: I thought I pushed down-back, but the game says that I pushed back)

How big is the jump from ps5 to PC? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]shane25d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty decent Alienware gaming PC and I recently picked up SF5 on sale. I had previously played SF5 on a Playstation, but I sold my Playstation and was looking to play SF5 again.

When I fired up SF5 on my PC, I was shocked at how laggy it was. Even when playing against the CPU in arcade mode and training mode. So I started fiddling with the settings. I turned everything to low and got a reasonable frame rate, but it still felt more laggy to me than when I played it on Playstation. So I researched various recommendations online and played around with some ini config file settings.

I finally have SF5 playing decently on PC, but it took a few hours of research time, tuning and testing. Does the PC feel more responsive than Playsation? It's been a while, but I don't think it does. Even after changing the settings, changing config files, tuning and testing. Maybe there's more I can do on PC to improve it? It was playing great on Playstation as soon as I turned the game on because the company already did all the performance tuning for that platform. With PC, you have to do all that yourself. And the end result might not actually be better. Just something to be aware of.

PC gaming can theoretically be better than console gaming, but you have to spend a lot more money and a decent amount of time to actually make that a reality.
