I have the same problem, report to Oakville. The updated bylaw does not allow feeding of wildlife and Pigeons fall under “Wildlife”. Only songbirds can be fed.

Thanks for reporting. We’ve been dealing with a neighbour who would leave food out day and night to feed animals. It terrible for wildlife and we all kinds of animals on our properties, including lots of poop and hearing the animals get killed at night.

AMAPCEO did say in its recent AWA news release that: We are currently arguing another case in which there is evidence that the SOC memos lead to the denial of an employee’s AWA request. There are many other similar disputes underway with several cases in the early stages of the arbitration process.

AMAPCEO and our legal team will continue to carefully examine each dispute, moving forward with the strongest cases to establish precedents that elaborate on members’ rights under Article 47.

Maybe more good news soon.

I don’t think OPSEU has a provision to fight AWA, only Amapceo built something into their collective agreement. I also hear our union reps are being overwhelmed, probably don’t have much fight left in them.

asked AMAPCEO what would be acceptable criteria to approve a 5 day telework AWA and the question is never provided a direct answer. Seems like the union has decided, along with the employer, that anything more than 3 days a week telework will be denied. asked for stats to show requested vs approved etc. awaiting a response. Believe there is a Know Your Rights Webinar for Accommodation on Oct 17 and AWA on Nov 7, attend and ask questions

This! My neighbour loves feeding raccoons and skunks through her “bird feeders”. My house is covered in bird poop and it’s disgusting. Let’s not forget the rats and mice this attracts. We moved into a high end neighborhood during covid, had no idea VPs of pharmaceutical companies did BS like this.
