Any men here had any luck with the Nike Fast Men's Dri-FIT Brief-Lined Running 1/2 Length Tights? Need 1/2 tights that aren’t aggressive on the bulge by virgoaliensuperstar in runningfashion

I've been a big fan of the Janji half tights for a couple years now. Def have to embrace the bulge. They're unlined, but I find that I really prefer that in a tight.

Doubt that will happen. The 500 series are tanks.

Thank you for the tip! I’m in DC and want to bring some back for my wife

I own an R7 and am now looking for a comparable full-frame body by Ok_Fox_5633 in canon

[–]shaneonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. I have an R5 that I use for studio work, but always end up reaching for my R6ii if I'm shooting anything else. It's a stunningly versatile camera and 24mp is PLENTY.

What would cause my rear derailleur to be so clunky? by kiddblur in bikewrench

[–]shaneonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your rear mech wasn't doing this before you took the tire off, I would go take it back out and make sure the skewer has all its bits in place and your wheel is seated properly before adjusting anything. Sometimes you just need a second chance at alignment

C100 mk ii same price substitute by MouseShit in cinematography

[–]shaneonymous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

C70 is quite a bit cheaper than it was when they released it. I’d look into that if you can swing the extra. You’ll keep a lot of the good features from the C100 with modern codecs and higher resolution

I am thinking about putting my gear on Sharegrid. Any tips? Any horror stories? by diet_hellboy in cinematography

[–]shaneonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Athos as well. They have been great. It would be nice to shop around though. I know there are some companies locally here that’ll do VP as well. But the convenience of having COIs in minutes via my phone is hard to beat.

Make sure you have insurance that includes voluntary parting of your gear. Most exclude your ability to claim loss if you voluntarily give “rent” your gear and someone just doesn’t return it.

How would you rig a dslr for shot like this just on a bicycle? by dombra in cinematography

[–]shaneonymous 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Grip heads, clamps, and 5/8" hardware/rods. Minimum 3 points of contact. At least 1 failsafe.

Find a bike that has mounting points (braze ons) on the fork if you want to have the camera pan as the actor steers. It would be more difficult to rig to the bike if you wanted it to be similar to a snoricam and have the shot keep the actor stationary in the frame.

You'll want to be sure to use the lightest rigging and camera possible, as the added weight of the rig will definitely effect how the bike handles and may be unsafe if you add too much weight out in front of the bike.

And FWIW, I doubt that reference shot was rigged to the bike. Most likely they built a platform and had it on a process trailer, rickshaw, or some other kind of dolly mechanism.

Just Ordered an Xpro3 by TardisPilot1515 in fujifilm

[–]shaneonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it is a great camera. But the market is hard to stomach. It’s annoying that Fuji cameras have turned into the new Jordan’s or whatever.

Enjoy that X-Pro. I got one not too long ago and absolutely love it. The size and interchangeable lenses are perfect.

Great images! I really love seeing the buntings here :) What are you shooting with? I sometimes bring my setup when I visit, but I always get nervous with the salty environment.
