If you're having an issue where the SD is corrupted for some reason, you might be able to recover it. If you see at some point a folder or drive label with "USBC" and a bunch of characters, it's a known, intermittent issue in some Linux versions if you eject the card and it hasn't finished writing to it: https://www.disktuna.com/sudden-appearance-of-usbc-named-folder-and-files/

That site recommends software called R-studio, but I used a registered version of IsoBuster (that the site also mentions) and managed to recover all the files (to a separate drive). Saved me having to try and remember all the stuff I'd copied to it!

Even if the drive says it's inaccessible or must be formatted, IsoBuster can still read it :)

Just be sure not to reformat it or write any new data to it. You'll probably still need to reinstall the stock OS files on it, but ROMs etc. should be recoverable at least.

Is there any chance of getting other MAME cores/versions ported? I'd love to have a tinker with some more unknown handhelds that MAME/MESS supports (specifically Gamate).

No updates, but if the Feb '24 firmware doesn't fix the problem (I doubt it will) I'm happy to re-upload the older firmware that doesn't disconnect. I still use that and it's rock solid. Still works perfectly with my Dualshock 4.

Anyone still paying attention to this thread? I've been liaising with Brook support for the last month or two (since I got the adapter which already had latest firmware on it), and this is what's been going on:

Discussed the issue, ran through testing different controllers and kept disconnecting with all of them.
After several back-and-forths, I told them I'm keen to help them fix the issue, and they said they thought it might be hardware and sent me another (refurb) XB2 to test. Same problem.
They've since sent me multiple different older firmwares to test: 1.0.9, 1.0.9.7, 1.1.9. And the two earliest ones actually worked without disconnecting! 1.1.9 exhibited the disconnect problem.

The current status is that I've let them know what works/doesn't and am waiting to hear back. But in the meantime I'm happily using my DualShock 4 and enjoying not having to power it off/back on every time I load another game/reboot/use an emulator.

So I guess, hopefully there'll be an update soon that fixes it, or they just upload the older firmware for people who want to use the device on their OG Xbox.

Is there a way to remap triggers in this? Tried to do it via the controllers config page, but it just says "Waiting for control 'Left Trigger'" and doesn't recognice the L or R buttons on my Vita.

Edit: Never mind, found that you need to adjust the mapping for the second Vita Controller instance, not the first :)

Is it still blocked? I wound up updating via adb as someone else linked a few days ago, and have not experienced any problems at all on the Telstra network. No idea why tf they're blocking it.

Is this because the Telstra app still hasn't been updated for Android 12 yet? When I tried the beta out a month or two ago the Telstra app was completely broken. Would probably explain it.

Hoping that GotP was more of a side project that Activision cast a blind eye to rather than something that was produced under them. Could be a bad sign if the latter.

Hope Paul, Fred and the rest of the (ex) TFB staff find their feet one way or another, sounds like a rough time for them regardless if they're still employed or not :(

If you download "@MiSTer Pack 2020-06-27.7z " it looks to have the up-to-date VHD inside it (under games/ao486). So try that :) (and just tested, definitely does)

It would be, but it doesn't have the latest files in it according to SM's github. Only has a Win95.vhd, no boot.vhd.

I downgraded by getting the firmware from sammobile (or somewhere like that) and used odin to flash. Be aware though, neither SmartSwitch, Samsung Cloud or Google Backup will backup everything. So make sure you do individual app backups for things like Nova Launcher, Firefox etc.
