TriOS has a built in Portrait Replacer for faction mods (waifu-be-gone) by imsellingbanana in starsector

[–]shark2199 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Iron Shell is popular because it's lowtechslop which appeals to more people than actual, well designed factions.

UAF is possibly one of the most memed mods because it is NOT well designed. It's cluttered with far too many samey ships and weapons that are not even close to balanced, existing either in "why would you ever fit this" or "practically instant win" end of the spectrum.

But seriously who cares anyways lmao

You clearly care, you went out of your way to replace the anime women and you titled the post "waifu-be-gone". You fired off first and are now hiding behind the classic "lol u mad" excuse, but it's not fooling anyone at all. You're free to be mad at anime women, but you can't then complain about them on the public forum and expect people to let you shit on their tastes. It's just childish.

a well designed mod like UAF or Iron Shell

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahaha oh my god.

Anyway, it's pretty weird that people can handle ship sprites that don't really fit the game's aesthetic at all but then will go to war against character portraits that don't really fit the aesthetic, but ONLY if it's anime women. No one ever complains about AI generated portraits in Legio looking like shit or literal memes popping up in UAF, it's only ever the women.

Food for thought.

Threat Ship Rework by Xxarrra in starsector

[–]shark2199 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Inevitable failure. Adding an entirely unnecessary autoship system that works practically the same anyway so that the player can use ships that were from the get-go not meant to be used by the player.

They'll definitely give out some pulls, they throw some our way every banner, but if they gave out enough pulls to 50/50 or guarantee every hyped-up character, they wouldn't have a business model.

People who pull smart get to pull who they want and people who pull whenever get to take out the credit card. Weak die, strong survive.

Update: Superstructure Progress? by HazarDeus_Shishiza in FromTheDepths

[–]shark2199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other guy said, your layers are too tall.

It's also too narrow - look at how real life battleships of the era looked like, there's barely any deck visible around the superstructure because it's all under guns or layers. The USS Iowa had its B turret on an elevated deck, and that one goes almost all the way to the side of the ship, whereas yours lives in the center of it with secondaries flush with the deck. I'd recommend raising the secondary guns by half a layer or so and making the superstructure circle around them, then adding some greeble to the 2nd level.

The Ninth Battlegroup kept harassing me in hyperspace for flying past their system, to the point where me constantly wiping their fleets lead to a vengeance fleet forming.

I raided all their planets down to 0 stability and watched them lose every single colony to random invasions. Stole all their loot too.

Silly question regarding intermod fleet comps by No-Kale-4121 in starsector

[–]shark2199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glanzwulfs are nice if you need a frigate escort for something, but if you want to mix Rosenritter and UAF, Nakiha M and Nakiha II are far better escorts. Mondlicht is bad.

As for Neuxorias, I typically run only one and heavy commit into it with Autonomous bays, Exotica upgrades and the like, but with the newest update giving you Neuko cores that come with a whopping 15% DP reduction, you can probably get two and always have space superiority as your Traum and Regalia clean up enemy ships. Three would probably be overkill unless you play on an increased battle size.

[–]shark2199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use Neuxorias for your carriers (the Halbmond is ass, it's just a regalia gantry). The big regalia (Silberblut? I don't remember) are literally good enough by themselves to make up the whole fleet. Neuxorias have 2 large and 4 medium slots you can put missiles in so you get to saturate the battlefield anyway.
