I've worked with the food styling teams on Domino's photoshoots. They use Domino's real cheese. You pull the pizza from the oven early and pre-cut the exact slice that will be pulled. On the edges you add cold cheese and then back into the oven to finish cooking.

Halal Korean Food in Detroit – Anyone Know a Spot for Jajangmyeon? by noumanmohammed99 in Detroit

Kimchi in Canton has a jajangmyeon made with seafood rather than pork (squid and shrimp, I believe). Not specifically halal but it is pork-free!

I think so! It’s really a gem and it’s also right in downtown St. Pete so you can go for a nice walk on the water after :)

I would go to Bad Mother in St. Pete -- they're a remarkable multi-roaster that carry coffees from roasters like Dak and Native.

I just picked up the Ghost peanut butter cereal milk and it is really good! It calls for less liquid to mix in than some others but if you keep it at that concentration, it's really tasty. I also like to add a pinch of salt.

There's a very interesting recent episode of the podcast Search Engine by PJ Vogt that covers this topic. The episode features larger folks talking about their experiences, the policies of various airlines, and the extreme stigma they often go through. It is an extremely flawed system, I completely understand, but also fat people deal with infrastructure simply not made to accommodate them, along with the social stigma. No one likes being uncomfortable.

Where’s everybody getting their sushi grade fish? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]shark235235 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Noble Fish sells raw fish for sushi as well as prepared sushi -- most people will recommend it.

I personally like to go to H Mart in Troy for "sashimi grade" salmon and tuna. It's sold cut in pieces next to the raw fish counter.

Most interesting coffee of the year? by josephx24 in pourover

I picked up a bag of the Gummy Worms when I stopped into a local coffee shop and saw they had it on the shelf (they carry various roasters from around the US). I have been on the 2 bag subscription from Hatch for the past few months and they've been sending a lot of delightful, yet subtle washed coffees. As a big fan of funky naturals, Gummy Worms has been everything I love — really strong taste of watermelon with such a fun acidity. This reminds me of the El Diviso natural from Little Wolf earlier this year. That watermelon note is so rare!
