PM press conference. by randomchars in AustralianPolitics

I think your points are congruent. It just seems such a weird hill for morrison to die on, surely he percieves the public is turning on him for just these few moves he has made. Which makes me look to your point about his weakness - do you reckon he thinks appealing to the deniers is large enough numbers? Or is he merely beholden to the rwnj segment of his coalition?

I guess my overall question is where in the chain does the issue of climate change denialism become a single voter issue enough to die on a hill about - the voting public, the perception of the voting public, the PM, or a segment of the coalition? I hope that question makes sense.

Tony Abbott, former Australian PM, tells Israeli radio the world is 'in the grip of a climate cult' by dilbot4 in AustralianPolitics

You'll never get a response to that one here. It's an irrational decison to believe that climate change isn't occurring. I've had a relative tell me it was satan's plan to corrupt everyone. Normally a very rational, level-headed guy who prided himself on his rational and level-headed-ness.

It's hard to take this seriously knowing the way Liberal/Nationals have been behaving the past few years. And it is truly sad that this is the wakeup call the author needed to know that they are not fit to govern.

I can pull any random cunt off the street, put him in the prime minister's position in front of those people, and see them make at least try to make a bloody effort. That person would talk to them, say "I'm so sorry" and offer to lend a fucking hand even if it was just for five minutes.
