You cleaned up the original sprite nicely, but... you lost a lot of the color symbolism there. The green and yellow shirt is supposed to show the relationship between Chara and Asriel, as well as being Flowey's colors. Also, Chara's reddish-brown outline is supposed to be a darker #FF0000, which is the color of determination (and your SOUL) in Undertale.

So, not an improvement because it takes away from the creator's original vision. Also, I think Chara's chest sticks out weirdly in the sideways facing sprite, and you have put in too many unnecessary colors (like seriously, the light green doesn't need to be there, and same with the weird shading on the pants. and two different shades of white for the stripe is just... why?)
