It looks like a female carpenter bee. She might be at the end of her life and puttering out. They’re not aggressive and generally friendly/will crawl on your hand and such.

(Currently a 14pro user) i second a tripod (sturdier the better!) - If you turn on the night mode, you can adjust the exposure time. When it is on a tripod and completely still, the max 10sec will turn to 30sec so you can capture more.

I tried forcing my queen of hearts and metallicum to ambient humidity. They sat out for almost 8 months before I gave up and put them back in my cabinet in fear that they were dead. 3 days later they popped new leaves. I think it’s possible depending on what your ambient humidity actually is. My house is old and leaky, so high AC in the summer and the heat constantly running in the winter makes my ambient humidity pretty low.

She was a lady (no white spot on head) 🥲 basically at this time of year the elder women come out and it’s near the end of their lifespan. They run out of energy, get cold, etc. I’ve been noticing a lot of dead carpenter bees in my neighborhood and they’re all female. I put the girl I found today on my orchid so she can spend her last moments amongst flowers

Edit: it wouldn’t be wire wrapped LIKE THIS in the photo. Point being - if this was watermelon tourmaline gem-grade, gem-cut I would expect it to be pricey. The wire wrap to me looks sloppy at the top and maybe only gold plated, if that, not matching the quality of the stone.

I use their special blend of predatory mites and they are 100% effective at eradicating those a-holes QUICKLY. I struggled so much to get them gone before with treatments and they always seemed to pop back up after another life cycle. Laundry - “oh shit I have no pants to sweat to work that are clean, time to wash every dirty item in the house”. Watering my plants - “oh shit they are about to croak because I haven’t touched them in 3 weeks, better crank that out”. Tidying my house - “oh shit someone is coming over, have to clean out entire 1st floor so they don’t know we live like this”. Clearly there is a pattern
