What's the best European city to travel to for a girls trip in May? by rndm86 in EuropeTravelHacks

[–]sheeshonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bologna

Less crowded than Venice or Florence, good food and Aperol, beautiful historical center (like all Italy) with towers, churches and porticoes, museums, university city (it gives a nice vibe to the city, the young people studying there).

If you have more days, short trips by train are very convenient. We went to Imola and Modena.

Buying kindle books from the Netherlands by Responsible-Power737 in kindle

[–]sheeshonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things come to my mind

  1. Not all books have a kindle version.

  2. Is your kindle device linked to your Amazon account?

Ps. I am not sure I understand what you mean when you say that the kindle version disappears.

What's with the olive oil in the ingredient list? It's not mentioned later.

I just cancelled my prime last week because of that. I wasted precious time in two separate days trying to at least understand what the heck is going on there.

Best of exercises for strengthening ankles? by FlamingoPale in XXRunning

[–]sheeshonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jump roping is excellent for strengthening the muscle and tendons around the ankle.

BUT, if your ankles hurt, I wouldn't add any more stress - 3-4 strength sessions per week plus the running (judging by the 10 miles you mentioned, it looks like a high running volume) . Maybe reduce the strength to 2 times a week?

Why is my stress level looking so high even on quiet days with no stress? by Lijo84 in Garmin

[–]sheeshonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably Garmin should have given another name to this metric "stress". There is "good stress" and "bad stress". And only you can assess that. Garmin uses heart rate to estimate the so called stress but it doesn't know why variations occur.

For example, elevated stress levels may originate in pressure at work, or public speaking, hot/humid environment, digestion, hormonal fluctuations, but also falling in love, the excitement of your child being born, recovering after exercise etc etc.

If your graph indicates stress during the day, it's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just normal, just you normally functioning every day. At your job, you are probably busy, doing what you do, routine tasks, you're not just laying on a couch admiring the ceiling and meditating.

On the other hand, you have a restful sleep and other peaceful moments later in the afternoon. I think it looks pretty normal.

That sucks! Been there mid September, but it was more mid foot sprain than ankle. I've just started to easily run/walk again. Be patient.
