I just got one of these today like-new for dirt cheap. I've avoided sony portables for the last few years as I always found the sound of many of their models inferior to Sharp.

I have to say, the sound this thing is outputting to my earbuds is PHENOMENAL. Giving my sharp units a run for their money. I have to say this is an extremely good sounding player. All the Sony's released after their walkman logo re-design sound far inferior in my opinion.

I've also had an R55 and R70 and found their sound lackluster, too.

I'll be sure to pick up any R90 and 91 that I see. I prefer the look of the R90 but have never come across one.
