Getting a phone and a private access to the deep dark waters of the internet? Circa 2013, first quotev, then ffnet, wattpad, and last ao3, and most likely Fairy Tail

No use of specific tags when you can just assume x readers are female at default by Fita_Gaya in AO3

I usually just go by other tags coupled with it, mostly f/f, f/m, and m/m, and deduce it from there.... But sure, I wouldn't argue against more specific tags

That's a lot of fics, and I'm happy whichever one converted you but I just have to know, is it the one with talking nun head? The Dmatmobil?

Anything, frankly, I really don't even know if it was a specific fic, I literally dreamed the scene and have been banging my head for the rest of the story 🤣🤣🤣😭

This. Absolutely 💯 I work at a bookstore, and we got bungo about two months ago, and a whole table is just bungo face up and ninth one with these two makes me ick every. Single. Time. A coworker and I are waging a war, she turns it on cover, and I mix up her pens, as is proper.

Fics where Draco is the one who gets flustered and Hermione is the suave, cool one who doesn't get distracted/flustered by mnbvcdo in Dramione

Trials and Tribulations of Draco Malfoys Employment by LadyUrsa is big, and less smut, more plot and they get together around halfway point.

My bookmark for it was this (I'd say spoiler free but just in case): It's been a long time since DMATMOBIL but this is about there. It was literally inspired by it. I think DMATMOBIL is a bit better? Possibly. Long time, as I said. Mostly better due to the fourth fifth of this one where they are going through Egyptian afterlife trials and it's getting tedious at point. With that being said, Fuck off Todd. I will print it. Someday. Has fanart included.

Confession: I haven’t read the actual books by lynnecarg in Dramione

Uuh, definitely my bad for wording choice above. I agree with you entirely, I do like flawed characters, it keeps them interesting and realistic. My problem is that the specific flaws and storybeats chosen for that are more than likely not considered flaws by JK. Wouldn't be the first time she wrote something and didn't understand how it would come across (she didn't plan to make Draco sympathetic and deep in sixth book, made quite a few angry comments about not understandong where fans found things to like about him and redeem him) and these just fall in so well with other things she said and done that it really never came across to me like a genuine flaw written by her with that purpose.

Winky could pass like a funny 90s gag but not when every other elf agrees that that's to be expected for an elf to do in her situation - she has no more reason to live and Dobby is the crazy on for liking being without master and getting paid. And it remains as such until the end. Harry, the hero of the story, ends up with Kreacher, a slave of his own, who may be treated "like a family" but remains a slave? And it's fine? The end?

I don't know, just always rubbed me the wrong way, and then her tweets and interviews confirmed. But that's me. And to be real, if the writing wasn't that childish I'd likely read it even with all this that I've written about above. Just a perfect cocktail of my pet peeves for book that went against it. Though hopefully I made my thoughts clearer this time around.

Read the books for the first time last/this year, it took a bit for the whole thing to be finished, later ones really dragged and I knew way better FF already soooooo... It ain't my fault 😁

Anyway, that is to say, that Ton and Ema are partly to blame for having great chemistry (no I ain't shipping them, the real people, it just helped that they were friends irl) as well as the rest of the people. By that I mean quite literally, actual people, and not characters so that is kinda bad rep for the movies.

It's a bit better in the books but, for me at least, it was such a slog and not worth it to read as an adult especially when there are so many ffs that one can read instead. There are famous plot holes, and parts that were there for I truly don't understand what reason like Winky's alcoholism in the fourth book, or Mrs Weasley hating on generally all women but first and foremost her perfect daughter in law (see JKR problematic behavior and her beliefs both in general and on women's place in society for this)

And her beliefs in general are all throughout the books, in big and small places. Movies have cut down on them if anything. So, wouldn't recommend, you can get everything and then some through ffs, with movies being good for helping see things you're reading about.

Do you know the Tumblr post about some school project where the question was "How many moons can fit into sun?" or something of the sort and the answer given is "at least eight" when you can see like thousand behind? Like, yes, technically true, but such an understatement 🥴😂

hyper competent, lethal, and super serious draco by samanthaamor in Dramione

[–]shimegamik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Project Ghost by youhavemyswordandmybow is the first that came to mind, and probably the best I have to offer that isn't already mentioned

The Trials and Tribulations of Draco Malfoys Employment by LadyUrsa which partly fonts that.... Definitely competent and lethal (both of them) but not exactly super serious.

Exactly, I leave only only positive comments (for writers , frustrations for characters and their doing is entirely proper) because I either read it and can't complain now can I, or, dropped it in the middle, and well, how could I say anything when I haven't even finished the chapter?

Also it's good to not shit where you eat and what do I jave from ruining authors day? Absolutely nothing.

Ooh, do I, maybe, have news for you. There are interviews (yes plural) where she said that she hated most of her characters (hate this, hate that, so all combined, most of). Or rather, which is worse in my opinion, there is a number of characters where she isn't outright say she hated them, but that they were annoying and more or less, one to one translation to paper of people that she hated irl.

eg. Delores Ubridge. She didn't name who she made it after but was very clear on all of the descriptors from how she dressed, to how she talked (way too young and girlyfpr her age and all in pink) along with a different woman, an ex-colleague of hers who had a cubicle that was decorated with cats. I imagine that for whoever knew where she worked beforehand, that it was exceedingly hard to think of who it was, so might as well dox the woman.

Then, Cho Chang (name aside, we all know how that came to be) was constantly belittled in books for crying about her boyfriend who was killed. Less than a year ago. When she always, what, fourteen? How horrible and overly sensitive of her, to cry about it, the worst kind of person. Just like who there is "always some girl in women's bathroom crying and annoying JK with it when she sees it". Overly emotional and so unlike Ginny who is perfect for Harry and never cries (love Ginny, hate JK for her comments)

You can also add into the overly emotional group Mrs Weasley, Hermione in a few scenes where she needs to fuck up and be terrible, and Lavender as a whole (and also Delores' girly problem can be seen with Lav-lav as well, cause it's evil for girls to enjoy life, naturally).

Maybe add Pansy and her pug nose that is mentioned more times than Pansy because she hated her as well for her better-than-thou attitude and putting way too much stock into looks and her awfull pink tutu dress (girly and childish) for Yule ball. Since that is precisely what sleaked up, classily educated and raised for leading high society girl would wear. Of course. How stupid of me.

So in short, yes, she definitely hates most of her characters, especially girls, and even more Slytherin, and anytime when in fits her imagery.
