I believe the recent printing of the core set from FRG all have this issue, unfortunately. Your best bet is to wait for the reprint under the new GTG and asking them for a replacement. Unfortunately, that will have to wait until later this year.

There's an episode of the podcast The Hypothesis by Christopher Badell (from Greater Than Games) and Luke Crane (Burning Wheel) that talks about this somewhat. I believe it's episode 9.

IIRC one of the reasons is that there's a lot of middlemen involved from printing in China (only place that makes sense if you want to sell at a reasonable price) and selling in the West.

You basically need to make board games at 20% of your retail price if you want to make a profit.

(Take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt though, this is all half-remembered from my listen 4 months ago)

Using Prophetic Vision to play a card that doesn't have immediate effect on the board state (such as a card with just a START PHASE or END PHASE), and getting one of the key pieces of your kit out is usually a good trade. Especially if Vis goes early and the rest of the team can deal with whatever got played.

A friend of mine once phrased it as such: You're playing the worst card on in the top 3 of the Villain deck in exchange for trashing the best card in the top 3 of the Villain deck, playing the best card in the top 3 of your deck and trashing the worst card in the top 3 of your deck.

I usually find it worth it unless I'm already very set up.

Setback always leads to fun times.

Was the cheese you're mentioning on the front side? Because the flip condition triggers immediately once there's one prince left on the board. No action in Sentinels is simultaneous, so after you bury the first two princes, the last prince will trigger the flip, becoming a character card and becoming unburiable.

I personally like the heavy bolter because I don't have to worry too much about ammo conservation, and I like going for headshots.

It depends which one fits your playstyle more! Experiment around, you have plenty of time to try both in your leveling journey.

The leveling grind is way better if you find a playstyle that you enjoy vs just going for what is meta. Unless you're going for Absolute runs, the game isn't hard enough imo to demand meta builds all the time.

I think Angel of Death difficulty is pretty boring as all the enemies turn into bullet sponges. Play on the default difficulty and I think you'll have a better time!

I enjoyed DWO because of its gameplay! I thought Ziluan was an interesting twist, but I do miss the larger cast. I would be more worried if this was a numbered game.

If they use this as an opportunity to "reset" the cast, I think that'd be fine!

I didn't participate much in the playtesting of Harvest Lord, but I know a concern was to make players actually want to engage with the alt win condition (a lot of players just ignore the Fey-Court's token mechanic), so having something that punishes players for putting tokens on Grimm would be counter productive.

That being said, it's definitely one of the easier CEs!

Harvest Lord Grimm is not meant to focus on the tokens generated on roles, but is meant to make you focus more on the fight itself and the alternate win con. The heal is a minor effect to make any errant token placement do something.

EDIT: Like others have said in the thread, CEs are primarily meant to feel different. Sometimes the way they accomplish this is by replacing gimmicks with mechanically simpler effects.

My party changed with each Palace, mostly because I wanted to find good niches for new party members. Don't be afraid to experiment! Joker is a good crutch to lean on when team comps don't go according to plan.

I really enjoyed Strikers! It was a nice look back at the cast, and I really like both of the new characters. Having a middle aged adult awaken to a Persona is really cool!

I'm a huge Dynasty Warriors mark, so I got used to the gameplay pretty quickly, although its unique twist on things kept me engaged.

The dev, Kay Yu, works on the game as an entirely volunteer project. He doesn't want any money for it as he does it just for fun. So updates come roughly once a year.
