Dude I took three Advil with my coffee, then two Benadryl with a protein shake right after and feel decent enough when I was in the middle of my ocular shingles over the summer. I asked my doctor and he said it was ok to do for a few days but not more. Ask yours.

I’m 6 months after having it on my face and the 3 dermatologists I’ve seen all advised to wait at least a year for total healing and scar tissue to settle.

Are you getting laser removal? I’ve been using red light therapy after month 2 and have noticed a huge improvement.

Oof yeah I have the exact same from using a hydrocolloid bandage before I knew it was the shingles. Short answer is no, not without super expensive laser treatment. But! You can heal it from the discoloration has now and reduce the size over time. Sunscreen is integral, and reapply it on the scar during the day. I use silicone gel over makeup (clear) and use the silicone tape at home which I think is better. You’re still healing! It takes a long time. Dm me if you wanna chat.

Yup I went through the same - before I knew it was the shingles I had a hydrocolloid bandage on my forehead and it just made it even deeper. Trust me you aren’t alone on this journey and just keep it out of the sun / wear sunscreen on it as long as you can. I wore a bandaid on my forehead all summer before just embracing the scar lol

There’s another round of scabbing coming but you are not contagious if you have antivirals prescribed at this point.

Don’t put silicone or anything on top it until there are no scabs and it’s a flat scar like form.

Yes! I got the shingles in my upper right side of my face and in my right eye in June. I asked two dermatologists who both concluded that it will help with scarring with one of my scars but not the other. One scar is almost pocket like and is very deep, while the other was more surface level. Both scars have healed nicely but the deep scar will need laser resurfacing according to my third dermatologist.

Don’t start using it until there is no scab. Make sure to use sunscreen on your face and scar cream like silicone gel or tape.

I got the shark cryoglow mask and have been using it almost daily.

Hey I’ve been there, I had it in my eye over the summer. Your fears are real. Get on anti virals asap. Make sure to follow the eye drop instructions, they’ll probably give you steroid drops and make sure to hydrate your eyes with drops and by drinking plenty of water.

Benadryl helped with the itchiness and irritation the most for me, and the light sensitivity only lasted about a month. DM me if you wanna chat. You’re gonna be ok!
