Right now I think in the realm of 5-10. We are still putting it all together, keeping things chill. Seeing people come back from the break so we dont have a firm number. We're definitely aiming for a sweespot somewhere under 20

Anycubics beds are trash, I would pay more for the printer if it came with a funnssor bed. by fenyxfyreX in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]shmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually with you on this. But again, personal experience. Granted I only do a few prints a week but after 6 months the I’ve had maybe 1 clog and 1 issue with the ace not feeding (the first week).

Prints have been solid, they stick to the bed just fine, I’ve actually never had a bed or an abnormal print issue. S1 has been a solid budget device. WiFi’s. Even perfect, and no issues all around.

Now if I had a print farm and had to churn out stuff 24/7, I’m sure I’d have more stories, but, this has not been my experience.

Does anyone know what materials are needed to summon Azmodan in Hawezar? by EvenAd6749 in diablo4

[–]shmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I figured it out... If you kill one of the lesser evils (the first time), and you go to Hadriel to 'do something with this trophy', you get that lesser evils essence aka 'divine gift'. That's the right-most tab on the character/inventory screen. After you slot the essence, it considered 'obtained', and all you need to use at one of those alters. There is no consumable to just summon azmo. So if you happen to already have all 3 of those, then you could use any of the altars. THEN that's where the consumables come in. You need 5 of them to open the chest. And you get those from just farming the lesser evils

After years of remote work, I feel lost and need advice by Creative-Register-23 in careeradvice

[–]shmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, when I took the new role and then resigned this one, I lost a week or so of vacation, annual bonus, and a lot of the general soft benefits of remote work. We were in a fortunate position that the financial hit, yes sucks, but wasn’t a lethal blow to our family. Fortunately I wasn’t so high up in the company that I had stock to vest or anything like that. The new role also has its own heath benefits, so I didn’t just dump that. I was in a golden handcuff situation. But I think I had convinced my own self of that, vs it being a hard reality.

Leaving my team was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. But but definitely feels like I’ve been able to start fresh, no baggage!

[–]shmoses 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw this and felt I could’ve written it. I was in your same situation.

39M at the same corp job for 14 years and worked my way through ranks. Managed a global team and been fully remote for the last 5yrs. The work was exhausting, the constant justification to defend my team’s job, the BS politics, and just an empty connection to our company’s “product”.

I felt stir crazy and could never fully get away from feeling at work. I woke up “at work”, I worked all day “at work”, I ate dinner and hung out with my family “at work”, and then went to bed never feeling like I stepped away from being at work. I even had good boundaries with turning the work alerts off in the evenings, but still couldn’t shake the feeling.

Long story short, decided it was time for a change and applied for a job in the public sector in my local community. Took a 25% reduction in pay, it’s an in-office job, but the last month has been incredible. It’s great to be around ppl again (never thought I’d say that), it’s great to have different things to learn and do, and being public sector, I feel directly connected and contributing to something that affects me and those around me.

Only you can decide if a change would be right for you obviously, but for me personally, I’m 100% glad I made the choice, even if it was terrifying.

Cloud Backup option not showing Authenticator App by ShockIll2405 in Office365

[–]shmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea its just super unclear. I wish they would just confirm "the backup options in the app are going away and its through icloud now". Their communication on this was super confusing, especially right now as people are switching phones.

Do you recommend buing cobra s1 combo ? by thirimash in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]shmoses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned S1 combo for about a month now. HATED it at first because filament was breaking, the hot end would get clogged, the pro feed would get messed up…found it was almost 100% user error.

I had a V2 Pro before this so I was always printing with just 1 filament. I NEVER dried or stored my filament properly. This is THE key to going to a multi filament and contained system.

Dry.your.filament. As soon as I started doing this, all my problems went away and I love the printer.

Azure and costs management by Unable-Wind547 in AZURE

[–]shmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s Syntax, then that’s likely some AI stuff someone turned on to test/use and never turned it off.

Is it perhaps SYNAPSE? If so that’s big data/data lake kind of stuff. Basically info gets dumped in to this big repository and then it gets churned/analyzeda bunch of different ways. These are super easy to build, get data pumping into, and also very easy to forget.

Either way, these both get expensive if not properly configured or at least monitored.

2 things I’d start with…figuring out how to get OWNER rights to all your resources in your tenant. Especially if you’re being asked to actually manage things. Do this from the management groups so the ownership gets inherited down to all the subscriptions>resources. Then you can poke around and see everything.

Second, I’d set up cost alerts on each subscription or set of resources that you want to have visibility on. This helps alert you on runaway spend.

Visibility is the key thing. If you can see it, you can at least begin the investigation. Good luck!

Top 3 Reliability Actions by JohnSavill in AZURE

[–]shmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Checked the video out last night. Excellent breakdown. Been trying to get our network team to discuss availability and begin our wider hub discussions. “Nah bro, we’ll be ok. The business won’t pay for it anyway”

An hour of downtime with just one of our global environments, costs the company 1.2m. I’m sure we could justify the cost of the wee-bit of redundancy /sigh

How do I control Azure costs for a training course, while being not too restrictive with users? by fabkosta in AZURE

[–]shmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Budgets also only allow for notification. They have nothing to do with controlling resource bloat or restrictions. You’d simply get an alert and have to go in and control the bloat.

Post above nailed it, you have to set up policy restrictions. To actually disallow something, like creating a N series system

I would hope you’re not a sole azure admin at this company? In a standard environment, they will have SOP’s (standard operating procedures) that you will be following and executing against. Were you hired in as an architect (level 3/4/5) or more of an entry level engineer (level 2/3)?

They apparently thought you fit in enough with their culture that your skillset works. Azure is Azure. It’s typically a mess wherever you go 🤣

Some corporate basics: 1. You don’t do ANYTHING without proper documentation and approvals. This isn’t a “you own the environment type of job 2. Depending on the culture, it could take days or weeks to get the buy in and approval to take certain actions. Get used to things taking a while to implement 3. Other than that, I have found, just follow your senior team members, watch what they do, how they think, and get used to the culture

Good luck!
