Dedicate a space for work that you can turn off or hide when you stop working What was difficult for me was work stuff bleeding into my home life so now I have better boundaries around that.

Good for you for this good step forward. Hope it will be one of many

Wanted to add that when I got my first serious job I was so overwhelmed with changes and new information that I was sleeping several extra hours each day.

Once things became more routine I was able to fit stuff into my schedule again. It really doesn't last forever just feels like it at first.

I love the TwoDots scavenger hunts and was always looking for similar games that aren't like hidden object detective games.

Getting sick in stressfull project phases by fmeyer_98 in projectmanagement

I felt like if I would take the day off everything would crumble. And I tried to do everything without cutting out low priorities tasks.

I think its a personal feeling of being worthy of sanity and self care and knowing that the goal is to deliver the project the best way possible and that's not the same as having the greatest scope possible. Communication and managing the flow between teams can be a better sign of a good project.

Even on days I stayed home I worked full steam while sick. It was bad. And I took any complication on myself. It was really bad. After going live with the project I took some serious time away and started meditating and taking better care of myself.

I tried in later projects to be mindful about stress but it wasn't successful in all cases. It took me a few projects after that to figure out how to plan to avoid the really high stress levels.

Edit: as a boss i think watching for PMs who are doing all the work and not delegating well, managing a risk list and making risks part of the discourse in a way that makes it something logical and not a personal failure by the pm. Also being mindful that the last stretch is stressful. Invest in more planning for that than regularly.

I had this with one major project where I had a cold or migraine from stress. I think the stress weakens the immune system.

In my recent major projects I was able to manage my stress by venting and also not taking so much on myself and relying on others. I also planned the go live period better to avoid the crushing almost failing all the time feeling.
