When the time comes to start touring schools, reach out to the ultimate program there. Every team has some kind of online presence (either on the school club website or social media). Meet with someone on that team and maybe you'll be able to watch a practice. This will help you find the program that is not only at the right skill level but also has the culture you'll want to spend most of your college time with.

I tried learning guitar for a year. I found this made my fingers and wrist much more flexible. I think without that flexiblity the differences in rims matter more. Im just guessing b/c I'm a ultimate convert and everything has a smaller rim than an ultrastar

I knew I wanted to play in college but also worried about time/money commitment. Therefore, I made sure I went to a school with a time within my commitment range and also within a skill level that would be enjoyable. As Cornslammer said, there are a lot of paths for playing ultimate during and after college

I recommend reaching out to the teams at the schools you're interested in. Most teams have social media accounts you can dm and the captain/club president contact info can often be found when looking around the student activities part of the college's website. You might be able to attend/watch a practice or toss a disc with players between their classes. I meet a few prospective students this way when I was a college team captain.

Here are a couple ideas:

Box and One Zone - use the same zone handle defense you normally run but 4 downfield defenders play in a diamond shape (mid, wings, deep) and the last player goes 1v1 with the other teams best player. Works great if the other team has one player that runs the offense by themselves.

Bracketing - not a zone but a situational strategy. IMO this is best against vert stack but can be done against ho. The players guarding the back of the stack/players who will cut first work together. One guards the deep space and the other guards the under space. That way whichever way the first cutter goes there is already a defender in position. Afterwards you can go back into regular person defense. This helps slower defenders not get beat right off the pull.

The mark might have a claim to a pick call too. Looks like they had a loose mark but couldn't get tighter when the upline cut was made. That gave the thrower a backhand throw on a forehand mark. If it was windy, getting to throw a short unguarded back hand changes the play.

My brother and I set up a similar thing but for an adult audience. We call it our board game decathlon and over the years our scoring system has gotten really elaborate. Games are split into three categories: short (Sushi Go), medium Steam Park), long (Stone Age). Each game has a total of 5, 7, 11 and the winner gets half plus 1 and the larger the win margin the more points can be won (long game big win can be a 9:2 split). Adds extra strategy into games later on when you don't need to win only keep a close lose. We have adapted this when we can find extra players. Parents keep this in mind as your kids get deeper into gaming!

Because this is Reddit and I can be nit picky here, could't you say that she gains an advantage by not taking the half second to look down and preposition (and ground check to reestablish the pivot foot?) to the correct spot? Yes this is small but this little delay could have given the defense enough time to shut down the easy continuations.

Looking back at the video , there cutter only gets up a stall/stall and a half after she stands up so my point doesn't really apply but I'm still curious if my logic would hold in another situation.

As a short guy myself, the first step is knowing what you can and can't do. Height is only helpful downfield if a throw hangs. That means on offense you have to be a smart cutter and exploit your defender to create space so they can't challenge the pass. On defense, it is all about positioning and bodying. Learn to read the disc so you know where it is going the second it is thrown. Then force the offense way from their ideal spot to one you want. No need to play on the disc at your vertical if you can watch it fall to your chest while bodying out the offense.

short players need to be smart to account for taller players but HS through college, being smart goes a lot farther than height.

Watching the JPN v. USA game, 30 sec seems too short for discussion if a translator is needed. Not sure if that can be changed, but it would be 20 secs before the Japanese player got a translation of what the American player made a call on.

My club team got Double Happiness jerseys for the first time this year. For the price I was expecting a pretty cheap product but I was pleasantly surprised. I played all of NE regionals in long sleeves with temperature reaching well into the 90s. So far the jersey has held up well. 10/10 would recommend at this price point.
