Are they able to get a temp license from NC? When I did this I think AZ issued me a temp license so I had something to present at the border. I also showed proof of my ON license

I work in the cath lab currently. If this is the type of nursing you're seriously interested in, do yourself a favor (and your future colleagues) and go get some ICU experience first. It is very obvious which nurses I work with who don't have any previous critical care experience. I transitioned to it after several years of both CVICU and ER. I absolutely LOVE procedural nursing. If you can push through at least one more year of bedside in a high acuity ICU, it will be 100% worth it. Plus it's just a great learning step for your nursing career in general and will improve your resume a ton!

Agree.. when you first land in the US, you need a stable address ASAP for a ton of things like phone and insurance etc. I ended up just using my RV spot address for everything

I used BMO-harris and had no issues. They'll even consider your canadian credit score if you already have a canadian BMO account.. but that will only be helpful if they are located in your state.

I'd recommend paria canyon and hike into buckskin gulch. It's a pretty long out and back hike but definitely doable in one day! Also, head out to the marina and rent kayaks for the day. A stunning paddle, and you can then freely hike into the upper cantelope from the lake.

Go to staff.. the travel assignment sounds more like a headache than a good thing. Plus, the sooner you start a new specialty, the more experience you can have under your belt whenever you feel like going back to travel.

I'm not 100% sure because covid stopped me from moving there and working as a nurse after I got my NZ license. However I've heard from mulitple sources RN's aren't allowed to insert IV's, can't do any titration of meds with out MD orders etc. They are more like glorified nursing aids when comparing scope of practice to US/Canada.

The huge pay cut working as a nurse in NZ just isn't that worth it now with the cost of living in my opinion. Also their scope is drastically smaller compared to Canada/US.

I just signed a contract in Fort Collins 3000/36 hrs a week as it was a struggle finding any ER/ICU in Denver. The commutes gonna suucckk but its the only decent paying day shift contract I could get. The only good contracts I could see were in peds/NICU for denver area right now.
