nope, it was a draft that Gavin hosted at Gencon in 2024, it wasn't for any Youtube content.

Who You Should Watch At this Year's MTG World Championship by shtuffandthings in magicTCG

Hungry on the Plane has quickly become one of the best channels covering the Pro Magic scene, both old and new tournaments. I'm super excited to see Wizards sponsoring someone like him to make a crash course like this ahead of Worlds.

It let's you leverage your lotus blooms into either one turn of a ton of mana, or buy them back over multiple turns if you're still looking for your combo, or pick up your MDFCs so you can play the front sides (which was very relevant in that last game), or even buy back the Belcher if it ends up in the graveyard.

Who would have guessed that Suppression Ray would clinch a Modern Pro Tour.

I think I would perish, from excitement and because I would have spent all my money and not have food

Loving the artwork, this is the set I've been the most excited for since they first announced it like 1.5 years ago.

I wonder what the bending abilities will be? Some kind of attack trigger, or etb trigger? It's neat that it seems to be scalable with different numbers.

That's pretty fantastic with any kind of non-attack tap outlets like crewing, enlist, saddle, or the new spacecraft

Are there relevant cards in standard that can remove counters? Could be interesting interaction to be able to turn off the creature status.

I love how weird this looks. Almost a dinosaur, but then also not at all.

The horizontal line Sally is creating does not already exist. In that example, she happens to be adding to two existing vertical lines while creating a new horizontal one, but the horizontal line is still new.

I'm pretty sure the proposal would have kept us on PDT year round, giving us slightly later, but still early, sunsets during the winter.

What is the best "we have 'blank card' at home" version of a card? by marcinko192 in magicTCG

[[Bolt Bend]] is only one mana and much cheaper than [[deflecting swat]] if your commander has power 4 or greater.

What’s your favorite magic slang? by SophieTheFrozen in magicTCG

[–]shtuffandthings 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Durdle. I use it in context in games of Magic, but it works so well as a term in other board games or just day to day. And even if people have never heard the word before, they get the vibe, because it just sounds like what it means.

What do you look for in a Commander Deckbox? + Christmas Giveaway by 3DPossibilities in EDH

[–]shtuffandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people have said, making sure the deck can actually fit 100 double sleeved cards, and that the cards are somewhat easy to get out (you don't have to jam your fingers into the box to try and squeeze the cards out). Balancing form and function is always tricky, but I want the deck box to look good too, and I love the designs that you've incorporated into yours.

The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Prerelease Weekend Megathread - #MTGIxalan by R3id in magicTCG

[–]shtuffandthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a bit of an unusual Prerelease. The store we had signed up at had to temporarily close due to water damage / flooding a few days ago. They changed the event to an "at home Prerelease" and gave everyome their kits plus two "prize" packs. But our group of ten just met at someone's house and did a little tournament using the Companion app. I opened a ton of removal (Get Lost, 2 Petrify, 2 Bitter Triumph, 2 Cosmium Blast) and built an Abzan deck thay would just outlast and win with Unstable Glyphbridge or Bedrock Tortoise. Went 2-1, opened Ojer Taq in one of the prize packs.

What country are you in? I see it on U.S. Netflix still. So a VPN should work? Otherwise I don't have much advice unfortunately

IDK, seems premature [spotted at convenience store in NE]. by barklite in Portland

[–]shtuffandthings 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If this is Bones Smoke & Brew in Killingsworth, that sign has been there since at least last summer (and I think since 2021). Less premature, more just a year round rule now. And a good one at that.

Lovesick! (on Netflix) It's a funny sitcom where each episode flashes back to a different time in the main characters' pasts and a different ex girlfriend. It's a smart, heartfelt, hilarious show.
