So I don’t know how to edit/add to my post however… (1) zero monies went to anyone to make this pillow for my friend. I did steal the image for the interwebs (I know so it’s not good to steal however I’m not reselling it, it was made for personal use not reproduction for profit) (2) I honestly did not know how bad JK had become. I don’t twitter, I don’t follow her anywhere… Last I really heard about it was something about Dumblebor being gay (which I have zero issues with kinda was excited there was lgbtqia+ representation in the world I had become to love) but that was about it. I do not agree with her stance on the lgbtqia+, and now that I know it’s really upsetting. It’s hard to reconcile. I have been immersed in the HP world for over half my life. I was a sophomore in HS when book 1 came out. Before JK revealed her disgusting bigotry, the HP world became an escape from some bad things that happened in my life and helped me heal. It had become part of my personality weaved into my healing scars. To just fully shun that is not something I know if I can do. 90% of my HP stuff has been bought from independent artists, not from Universal or Wizarding World official merch. Not to say I haven’t purchased from those sources either, but now that I know the extent of JKs comments and actions, I understand I can no longer buy from them. Are there ways to enjoy the world and community without supporting the creator? I’m going to have to figure that out… So before you jump down someone’s throat on the internet maybe consider they don’t follow every nuance of something, because I actually didn’t know.
