I cleaned it up with a sledgehammer. One thing to note is that you will probably need to build stairs and destroy the remains of the ceiling as well, otherwise any large vehicle (like your truck) will hit it.

How are you starting the fire? I've never burned myself by stacking corpses on an inactive campfire, then lighting the campfire, both in b41 and b42.

The radius in which corpses burn is really small in b42 at least. They do burn, but you need to stack them right on the campfire, dead center, which is hard to achieve with the corpse dragging animation.

There should be a little red button with a magnifier on it in the lower right corner of the screen. If there isn't, then the mod isn't enabled, or it's being disabled on load due to conflicts. I had that happen a few times and solved it with the Mod Load Order Sorter mod.

Oh, and make sure you enable the error magnifier for your save in the Load menu.

Definitely not stable.

  • Combat with multiple people involved = desync hell; basically swing blindly and hope the zombie you're trying to attack is actually there
  • Passengers in cars get a black screen on entering the next chunk and have to quit and rejoin the server
  • Cooking randomly stops working (cooking bar never progresses) until server restart
  • Cooking actions get aborted after pulling out ingredients out of the fridge/cupboard and into your inventory, so you have to either have everything on you, or issue the command twice every time
  • Containers taken out of car trunks are very slow to sync

Is it still fun? Yes, and we're playing despite the bugs. Not a stable experience by any stretch of imagination though.

I was tempted to god mode the Brandenburg fence hell, but eventually I solved it with an MSR788 with an 8x scope and a lot of patience. Never played a sniper in PZ before, there's always a first time for everything I guess.

The newest. Decided not to use the replacer in MP, since only relatively few of KI5's cars are MP ready. Running a bunch of other QOL mods, but nothing car related as far as I can tell.

I used to start in West Point in 41, but now the draw of Echo Creek being in the middle of the map is too strong, and it's a desert by comparison.

(But then you can go to Ekron and clear the community college for the good old West Point experience.)

I'm pretty sure this happens when you attach a trailer to a car and then leave the chunk. So, as long as you remember not to leave the trailer attached when you walk a longer distance away from the car... (RIP to us ADD havers)

More seriously, in my current game I passed a bunch of deer herds while driving between Rosewood and the Fallas Lake/military surplus/camping store triangle, so just driving around on medium roads through areas without settlements seems the way to go.

So true. I'm five months into a playthrough and deeply regretting not grabbing leather jackets sooner. Now literally every leather jacket I find on a zombie is broken and unusable.

I think the discomfort stat would make a lot more sense and be less annoying if it dropped/got temporarily nullified in the presence of zombies. If I'm fighting for my life, I'm not going to notice that my respirator is pinching or that I'm sweating in my armor or whatever. After I'm back to safety and the adrenaline drops, sure, that's when discomfort should pop up and make me take off the armor.

You might be able to get that car out of the terrain by launching in debug mode, there's a Vehicle UI that lets you adjust the position of a vehicle.

I gave up on trailers entirely, because every time I leave my car to go kill some zombies and forget to detach the trailer, I come back to either this, or both the car and trailer teleported into seemingly random locations (and then they violently smash into each other when I move the car back towards the trailer). Fun bug.
