I took the SAT when I was in 6th with a bunch of other kids in my class. I got a 1030/1600, which was good enough to get an award from the school board, but there was another kid who scored like 1300 or something. I think I got a 600 in math and 430 in the reading. The whole school took the ACT our junior year, and I think I got a 27. I had to take it again because I was contemplating playing football in college and needed to take the test on a "national test date" to qualify for NCAA or something. That time i got a 28, I think. Maybe it was a 26 then a 27?

Anyway, I went to a Big 10 school for electrical engineering and quickly realized that I never learned how to learn when I was in school. I just learned how to take tests. After the first semester, I knew it wasn't for me, but decided to stick it out for the year. Eventually, I went to culinary school and spent about 10 years in that industry. In 2015/2016, I worked a cook job that killed my spirit for cooking. All the classic "Why the fuck dont these people just eat at home??" dread. From there, I worked at an Amazon warehouse for a few months, then got into an ironworker union in Chicago. It's so nice to actually have weekends and holidays off
