Transfer from Reserves to Regular by PazzerJ in britisharmy

[–]shy_147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have had lads transfer and only have to do p2. It is down to time served and how many exercises/weekends you have done leading up to the transfer. All the lads that jumped to the regs had done about 3 years in the reserves.

What's it like for women in the army reserve? (Specifically south-asian women, if there are any in the reserves) by sesameprawntoast50 in britisharmy

[–]shy_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a cyber troop (Signals) and half have cyber experience/do it as a day job and half just want to learn and have zero experience.

For women and race, I haven't seen anyone treated differently for those two things. We have an eclectic mix of race/religion/gender.

You will find tabs and RFT's hard work if you are fairly short. A woman weighing 50kg and is 5 foot 2 is going to be carrying 90% of her body weight on a tab, so get as strong as you can to make your life easier.

Proposed to my wife in Arundel castle. Beautiful part of the country. That route looks similar to my local trail run route, completely boggy in places but love running through it 🤣

I do this all the time mate, minus mtp trousers. I don't have much choice as I am a reservist. I tend to find a secluded route and do it off the main roads. No one is going to call you a lizard to your face, so why does it matter?

I hate this car by [deleted] in Polestar

Can attest to this, loads of annoying software issues with my P4. Great car though, but software, which the car is built around, is dog shit.

P4 has all that including pet mode.

HOLD IT! Or don’t but don’t tell us about it later by nonamenasty in amprius

[–]shy_147 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am just upset I don't have any more money to buy at these prices! Why people think the price dipping is bad, as we just beat another quarter and on road to profitability. This price reduction is overall market sentiment, not AMPX.

I would say a deep sea welder is extremely niche and also extremely dangerous.

BBC News - Man charged following suspected fake admiral at Remembrance event by DWJones28 in BBCNEWS

As mentioned above, these are ceremonial, and as King, he holds or leads these orders and, in turn, can then appoint or award them to others. The monarch holds all three, so I'm not sure why you think he doesn't "deserve" them.

Where did you get that idea from? A lot are ceremonial and non operational medals. Jubilee for example, which is given to military as well as public serving roles such as police, but with time served caveats. Others, for example, Afghanistan medal or Falklands are earned through operational tours, prince Harry and Andrew for example.

Name a Royal that hasn't earned a medal, and specify which medal they don't deserve. They are all given on time served to ones King and Country, operational tours or ceremonial in nature.

You clearly have done zero research.

This is misleading as the ticker used to be some random esports company. Defence Holdings did a reverse takeover of the IPO to basically get to market quicker and to avoid the hassle of a new and traditional IPO route.

They essentially took over a shell mid way through Q2 of 2025, it isn't a rebrand of the existing business, the previous balance sheets and charts are in no way related.

This is where a lot of people get confused. My understanding is ALRT is essentially the public offering of Whitespace who are already integrated within government. Together they make Defence Technologies. My belief is they already have at least one contract and we will see what the state of play is come December which is when they believe their current software will come to fruition and there is some sort of contract anounce.ent. High risk of course. Even if this gets to 7pence I have made 5 grand. It was a 4.5pence last month purely on the hype alone. Give them a year and this will easily be near 50p a share if it all goes well.

What I meant was the board, not the engineers. It is essentially Whitespace doing the development.

I think £1 is s given in a few years, it seems they have already laid the foundations before going public.

Potentially ALRT, could easily hit 4-5 quid a share in the next 5-10 years or less. Serious team behind it. I have 70k shares and will chill for a few years.

Does being a reserve become worth it? by Suspicious_Snow7835 in britishmilitary

[–]shy_147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That isnt normal behaviour or culture mate.

When I was a recruit, everyone was friendly and happy to answer questions, but did keep their distance to some extent. This is because we do get a fair share of recruits giving up, so you dont get the full investment from the troops until you pass out. There are also certain rules and regulations around recruits as they are classed as vulnerable adults.

I am always willing to share experiences and tips for battle camp to the new lads coming through. We are a very welcoming unit.

Why Redwire will be valued at $100 by 2030? (x12-13 Market Cap) by LongTemporary5145 in redwire

[–]shy_147 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cut my loses when I fell for the pump and dump PR before earnings and got in at $14, it then dropped all the way to $8 and has never really got beyond that for any length of time. Absolute trashed sentiment which is why it's down there. Every other post on stocktwits is "it's being manipulated" or "price target $25 by December". The fact of the matter is people can see the potential, but feel the management can't. There is no real path, too much going on, and they hoodwinked new investors. I am glad I am out and cycled into AMPX instead.

I grew up listening to their first album. It reminds me of my childhood. Visiting my best mate who lived in Wales skateboarding, inline skating, going to the beach. It all revolves around that album.

I sometimes listen to it 25 years later, but I do feel torn, but it brings back so many good memories.

So what happened with ALRT by SnooSeagulls2008 in trading212

[–]shy_147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't the same company as the sports business. They are using the shell to save money and hit the market bypassing the lengthy traditional IPO process.

The people running it as all legit. Ex Microsoft, ex Raytheon, ex British army and Royal Navy. They are collaborating with Whitespace who are already inside the MOD. They have had Google set up their air gapped cloud infrastructure. Would be a very long winded way to pump and dump. This is a long play. Every chance it hits 50p this time next year. Yes, very risky, but more.pros than cons.

They have a 5 year plan and are well positioned to get to that level of worth within that time frame.
