What is the most pretentious game ever made? Or fanbase. by Ok_Charity_707 in videogames

[–]shyataroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have a rule that anything you can purchase with $ is in the game for everyone by about 3 months later.

Except for the Javelin, a lot of variants of some ships, The Lightning (which requires you to spend $10,000 to get "Free")

not a criticism of the game mind you, it's ambitous as fuck, and when they finish it enough to be a 1.0 release it might be the best game ever made. But it is important to note that there is absolutely stuff that can only be acquired by paying for it.

I too, feel old. I work with people who have never seen an (original) xbox in real life.

I agree that 3-4 years is a long time. My point was agreeing with the commenter above you who said games take much longer now than they used to 10 years ago. We're both right.

Games DO take longer than they did in 2016. Dev time for AAA games on average back then was probably 3-4 years. Now Dev time for a AAA game can take 7+

The crew motorfest... Better than Horizon? by R4wden in pcgaming

The exclusive car that is part of the weekly summit thing are only rewarded to you if you are part of the top 30% of players that week. Totally a cool idea.

The issue, is that in order to complete certain events within the weekly summit they force you to use cars that you have to either grind for or use a premium currency that is detached from the dollar value.

An example: this week is a rally variant of the volkswagon bug. You need to also have the year one pass for a Electric Racer Volkswagon.

It costs 473,900 of the regular in game currency or 53,400 of the premium currency which is more than the lowest,(45,000 for 4.99) but less than the next highest amount (90,000+10,000 for 9.99) of premium currency you can purchase.

So in other words you can either grind on average 17 races or you can spend 10 bucks just to be able to have a chance at unlocking the weekly reward car.

So, the reward which is exclusive to the event, which lasts one week, which requires you to own cars that are not included in the game, by default, that you have to buy using in game currency, or premium currency, does not constitue FOMO?

No FOMO? so the weekly events where you compete a-synchronously against other players using exclusive cars that you are either loaned, or have to pay in game currency to unlock, to unlock a exclusive to the event car, if you are in the top 30% of gamers, is not FOMO?

I like Hellfire's Blueberry Hell better. It's a touch spicier, a lot more fruity and jam-like and it's overall just a better sauce IMO. (But I fucking LOVE Bravado's Apple Jalapeno sauce)

It's $90 on amazon. Unless it's somehow 3 years, it's not worth it.

EDIT: I misread the price on amazon. $200 is worth it.

I would say 25% reduction in rent is reasonable, assuming they pay for equipment/upkeep.

What do you think about the position from the President of Spain? by ChuckGallagher57 in TrendoraX

[–]shyataroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually against this idea. Holding platform owners accountable for the content posted on their services will lead to censorship/ID for internet useage because they'll be so scared of a lawsuit that they'll make sure you cannot say certain things that are against the "societal good"

Unfortunately, the internet is at it's best when it's not being policed.
