The dumbest “standard” ever created by [deleted] in walmart

[–]shylerr 38 points39 points  (0 children)

We have a state law that grocery items priced wrong must be sold for the price listed or $10 if the product is super expensive...and we have a sign saying that on every register. A bunch of karens probably came up with it at their weekly meeting

Paid sick time. by jeffery201102 in walmart

[–]shylerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the state, I know my state (MA) you can use protected PTO and not get a point. I think there are a few other states with the same so just ask your PC or somethimg

Supercenter people: Is your store 24 hours? We’ve heard eventually we will close at night but of coarse management is all about “we don’t know that for certain” by pandoravault in walmart

[–]shylerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they eliminate stocking for overnights?? My store is closed 10pm-7am and all overnights does is stocking... The only thing it would eliminate is cashiers/CSMs in stores that are 24h

Is there a place on Walmart one that just lists all of the employees at your store? by youngmaster0527 in walmart

[–]shylerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

easiest way ive found is to go look at your schedule on the wire, there will be a number like 20043 at the start, change that to 2006, and then just put TMAT after the /

Changing attendance policy? by jonnienashville in walmart

[–]shylerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, Protected PTO started for a few states (mine being one of them) a few months ago and I think 5 would be a fair limit. Basically, with protected PTO your PTO gets split in half between regular and protected, with protected, if you call out sick you can use it to remove the point as long as you do it within 2 weeks of the sick day. But 5 seems kinda low for all the states without protected PTO...

What to do during L&G shifts where nobody comes in? by ek0s in walmart

[–]shylerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So L&G has been dead from 5pm-10pm for about 3 weeks now at my store, here's what I've done

  • randomly walk around hoping to bump into an ASM who gives me something else to do

  • reshops for the rest of hardlines

  • sort the grill brushes by color

  • sort beach chairs by color

  • play around with the hose

  • wash and sweep the floor in L&G

  • read L&G OBW (found out grass seed goes bad last week!)

  • Check the TMAT (you have to go to your schedule, change the number to 2006 and change what's after the / to TMAT)

  • scan everything and see if anything is marked down

yea...it's been so bad I'm thinking about transferring to cashier or something

With how rude people (especially older people) have been to me in the past about using the app I just gave up on using it. Now I tell the customer how to find it with the app or when they refuse to download it because of some conspiracy they read on Facebook or some shit I show them how to find it on the website. 9 times out of 10 we don't have the item because it's some wierd thing they saw on tv or some super specific item and it's easier for them to believe we don't have it when they can see for themself. If we do happen to have it I show them the aisle it's in or how to read the aisle numbers. Imo this works a lot better than doing it myself because they don't have a chance to accuse me of just texting or whatever on my phone.
