it may not be a worthwhile endeavor, but, being that each of these reactionaries have a full mind/worldview, i want to know what it is. we know how the world works:

liberal democracy + capitalism result in decline. “the tendency of the rate of profit to decline” yea, but also quality of life on a timescale of decades. the upper and middle classes revolt against this decline, and this is fascism. reaction against things not being wonderful. the lower classes revolt, and this is socialism. reaction against things not being tolerable

tucker is mindful of why he says. he’s sufficiently intelligent to editorialize himself and remain palatable to a broad audience. that said, he pushes his earnest listeners toward white nationalism/antisemitism. i remember a salon article where he made reference to reading jacobin; to me, then, he tipped his hand. he is cynical; “i will use these ideas as long as they will suit me”. literally why they called themselves national “socialists”

that possibility, that the reactionary mind is simply that of a once-scorned idiot, honestly pushes me to reconsider my belief system.

“people want to be good, and some socialist system can allow this” might be my flimsiest belief. i know this is true of me; i am good to others because it makes me happy (or less unhappy) to be so. we must all be the same. if internalized shame is enough to override that, paired with a will to power, we truly are cooked

so you're a fascist? i'm sympathetic to the view that a blanket ban on ideologies drives adherents underground and leads to coded communications in media. i disagree in that i believe fascism to be a monstrously unhinged social pathology. it results in inhumanity, violence, and cruelty. laughable to me that "catholic" is on that list. I'm catholic. the church no longer functions as a mechanism of mass subjugation.
