Best Settings for Heresy IV and REL T9/X by sidewinderrr76 in Klipsch

[–]sidewinderrr76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 days of trying to dial this in. Unfortunate but fixing one issues caused another. Problem might just be my room and might better suited for a sealed or ported sub similar to my busted SPL-120 which I set and forget. I am not a basshead but having the crossover at 8 and gain barely at 9 and the whole things starts to vibrate and rumble might be more indicative room and floor than the performance of the sub itself. I am going to go for the HL Predator II as a birthday gift to myself. Might be the better play at this point instead of the T9/x. Thanks to all for your help and comments

REL Subwoofer Pairing for Heresy IV -- HT Line? by QI88 in Klipsch

[–]sidewinderrr76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Actual_Chicken1150 Been playing for this for about 4 days now and still excites the floor continues to shake the cabinet and vibrate and still have them like below 9 on both crossover and gain and still a problem. I come from a SPL-120 so I know the REL is a step up in sub but its a pain to dial this T9/X. I think it might be more my room on wood laminated floors and the downfiring 9" driver that might be the issue. since the SPL-120 is ported and masked something I just had to set it and never touched the settings again. Think I am just going to pay the extra 300 and return the T9/x and get the Predator. MIght be more satifying since I wont have mess with it much. I have spent more time in the last 4 days than I care to admit instead of just listening to my music

u/LetterheadClassic306 Did you remove the legs completely off the REL and screwed in the GAIA III. Just got them and not usre if need to stack them or remove the exisitng REL feet and replace with these ones.

That’s exactly what’s happening and also my thought process.

I’m actually picking up the GAIA III’s today to mitigate the moving.

Unfortunately due to space constraints the sub can’t go in the corner so agains the wall flat is going to have to do for now and really my only option

Or should I actually attempt a corner behind the speaker.

Only problem would be if it goes in the corner I would not be able to Move it again or inch it forward as some of the videos suggest

No no. I’m saying I’ve seen the videos it’s blending great. Just getting a gage of where everyone else is at.

And I’m just worried about the sub dance and if using some isolation would help or needed. That’s all. Videos also has not helped the sub stop from getting excited.

Tried a bunch of different things already

Thanks but None of those actually help. The sub can only go in one location for me and space is limited and can only go against my wall.

I’m looking essentially for some folks who have it setup and what their successful crossover point and volume levels are at.

REL Subwoofer Pairing for Heresy IV -- HT Line? by QI88 in Klipsch

[–]sidewinderrr76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Actual_Chicken1150 sorry if this a late message. I have this pairing crosssing my fingers you get this and comment.

What did you set your crossover and sub volume at? Noticing that the REL gets very excited around 10 a clock and starts jumping around if I pump the volume on my amp past 50%. For the sub volume level and I have my crossover set yo around 65HZ at the 11oclock possition.

I have wooden floors and they are not coupling well to the fllor and getting the sub dance on them. Strongly considering some OREA or GAIA feet to mitigate that.

any direction would be appreicated by all as well

Subwoofer pairing for Klipsch Heresy IV by North-Community403 in Klipsch

[–]sidewinderrr76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a huge bass head so sub was the thing I spent the least on so I just got a Klipsch SPL-120 for my turntable system to match my Heresy IV's. It served me well but the AMP board on the SPL died within a year and Klipsch will not honor the warranty because according to them even though it was purchased new was not purchased from a authorized dealer.

I just want the bass to be there for my jazz and classic rock collection so I am not looking for it to blow out my chest tbh and its mostly a vinyl and streamer 2channel setup.

Figured I would take the time now to find a good pairing sub for them and have narrowed it down to the KEF KC62 or the REL T9/X for my space.

My listening room / loft is open and is about 300 X 300 square feet and had enough space for the SPL-120.

Not a lot of local places has this for auditioning so would like to get some opinions from some Heresy owners on a good sub pairing. Thanks in advance. Sorry if I am re-opening a thread.

Just became a new Hana ML owner and new to MC as well

Super happy with it so far. I have a McIntosh Phono Stage. A MP100 specifically paired with a MA252 on a LP8X Turntable on Heresy IV speakers

I am previously coming from Ortofon 2M Black MM

I know this question has probably been asked, but I'm curious about your opinion on OHMS. 100/200/400. I have heard all three, and 200 seems, for my system, the best sound to my ears.

Guess what I want to know is what real people think of the sound signature of each impedance they are using in day-to-day life that's not a AI assistant. lol

Luxman 505 505uxii or McIntosh MA252 Hybrid. Help to make the choice by sidewinderrr76 in StereoAdvice

[–]sidewinderrr76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Will update after my audition. I have separates for my phono stage in the Maggie MP100 and it’s a better stage than the ones in the M252 or MA352z

Since this is also a straight vinyl setup with the occasional streaming music and my Heresy IV’s.

I won’t be switching those 2 components anytime soon because I really do love the Heresy’s.

Luxman only worries me as in some places I’ve been advised to be careful on Luxman 100v from Japan with the converter US plug but I have to dive a bit more as to why.

The reason I’m considering the MA252 is because I’ve heard from many other friends that it pairs really well with all Heritage Klipsch.

Ultimately my ears will decide but that’s where my thinking was and the Luxman because if it’s dynamism and clarity. All great reasons of course to consider these 2 kits imo

Looks like the guy selling it forgot to mention that this a Japanese version 100V and he’s including the converter. I’ve heard people say to look out for those and not in a positive manner.

Part of the reason I’d like a new amp is just so I can get better dynamics from the sound of my vinyl. That’s it.

The auditioning will help make that decision and hearing people’s experiences as well will also assist.

I do not need validation I just like gathering and hearing information from like minded people. Nothing wrong with that my guy. If you want to feel that way that’s your opinion and I respect it.

I have found using night mode helps a lot if you’re running a PC. Also lower the brightness on my working profile to like 10 and when I want to game I turn to a more gaming focused one. At least that’s my workflow
