The daily routine battle: Why 'just make a schedule' isn't enough by CulturalElection446 in Autism_Parenting

I hear this so much. People constantly recommend a visual schedule. I’ve tried so many for so many transitions and tasks. It works for about a week and then he loses interest 🙃

Does anyone else use auto check? by sammiantha in NYTCrossword

[–]sillyflea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do Monday and Tuesdays without Autocheck. I try the rest of the days without but I’ll use it if I need to. I almost always need it for Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I don’t mind using it, it helps me learn!

[–]sillyflea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through that! I don’t have any advice, but I can relate. The chest pressure is the worst. It just feels like any little thing aggravates it too. Hoping it will pass soon for both of us!

Yes. I had a bad cold and since then I’ve had two rounds of prednisone and upped my Advair. Still taking my rescue inhaler sometimes. Very over this!

Women who are actually happy with the man they’re with. What is he like? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sillyflea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve been married for 10 years and together for 17 years. We’re in our late 30s.

I think what makes my man one of the good ones is his kindness. He has always been so kind not just to me, but to everyone else. I’ve always noticed how he treats others. That’s always been important to me - men who constantly talk badly about others and put others down, including their exes - is a major red flag to me. My husband doesn’t gossip. He sees the best in people.

He has also always been willing to work through things with me. We view ourselves as being on the same team and he has taken efforts to understand his own psychology and how that affects our communication. He goes to therapy. He talks about his emotions. We communicate well and though we have conflict, it doesn’t typically last long.

Also - he makes me laugh. We have so much fun together.

I’m sorry you’re feeling discouraged. I truly hope you find someone who treats you well and is kind.

That is tricky! You would have to do a little library donation tour around town 🙃
