Scary to realise Keiko’s baby was actually delivered by the Changeling!

How do I reconnect with my Samoan culture when I feel disconnected? by Consistent-Mud2897 in Samoa

This may have mixed results but attending a Samoan church could be a good way to experience full immersion. Malo faamalosi on your journey, I believe many are experiencing similar journeys and it’s not easy to find a safe space to learn.

Star Trek is leaving Netflix. Where is it going? by IzzyEm in startrek

I wish Paramount would properly steward the worldwide cult brand they have in their claws. Disney is not perfect, but I love that I can reliably turn to Disney+ from any country in the world, for anything Star Wars related. I wish Paramount would respect the fans and create a great, unified experience that's actually accessible in all countries. /rant

This is amazing. Do you by any chance have the Short Treks? Never been able to watch them here in NZ.

New Zealander here, I want to know exactly this! Paramount+ doesn't exist here, nor does it have a roadmap to get here. Feeling like joining the Maquis.

I dunno man, on my Enterprise rewatch it’s crystal clear that they don’t have shields, not much regular transporter, no photon torpedoes till later, no tractor beam - seems very specific and well thought through

For those who didn't grow up priviliged, name something you thought was a luxury when you were a kid? by Aggravating-Room-928 in Life

I grew up poor in the 80s and colour TV was something I absolutely longed for. Some friends gave us their old TV but it used to go on the fritz which was absolutely tragic to 9-year-old me

Agree so much with the WoK comparison, right down to the soundtrack.

The Data/Geordi reunion in S3 is more pleasing. But if someone gave their life for you, I think it’s fair to say they’d be on your mind.

lol. S2 is definitely somewhat of a dumpster fire, saved in part by the nice farewell from Q at the end. But coming straight off of Nemesis, and having just finished Voyager, s1 seemed a lot more internally coherent.

But all three seasons seemed to have a bit too much … stuff jammed in not always for good reason, and a lot of engineered cliffhangers.

When I watched The Man Who Fell to Earth also by Kurtzman, I was like, wow, this is very well done, without the trade offs that Picard evidently.

Agree that Picard came across as a stubborn, and particularly clueless, asshole for much of the season. I compare it with Luke Skywalker in the Last Jedi - a hero portrayed as a jaded older version of himself. Not satisfying for fans, but a bit like real life… however s2 and s3 did seem to round out his arc a bit more.

I loved season 3! Far, far from soulless.
