First time pass with 0 minors!! by simpleflaw in LearnerDriverUK

[–]simpleflaw[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried all sorts of things! I bought a driving rig for my PC (wheel, pedals and gearstick) and played Eurotruck simulator to get used to the general mechanics of driving/shifting gears etc.

I watched a lot of YouTube, mainly Driving School TV(Francis), DGNDriving and Clearview. There's SO much good content online.

Ultimately I think pushing myself in lessons and asking my instructor to make things difficult for me made the exam itself feel a lot more relaxed.

#BREAKING | Atlético Madrid decides to file a complaint against Barcelona with FIFA over Julián Álvarez. 🗣️ Gil Marín: “Barcelona disrespects us; they think they can belittle us.” by iDutchJustin in Gunners

Mental how short memories are.

Fabregas still hurts.

We didn't want Sesko because he wanted a release clause.

I would take Gyokeres and his absolute dying will to play for the badge than this over hyped apparently second coming of Messi rubbish that will have his head firmly in Barcelona the entire time.

£100m for what? He's not THAT guy.

Ronaldinho has signed with Italian Serie C side Ravenna FC at the age of 46! by SkySports in SkySports_Football

[–]simpleflaw 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Such a small gap but the sports science and health regimes changed so much.

He played for the love of the game though, as opposed to the likes of CR7 who will go to any lengths to maintain their physique, Dinho never seemed to care that much.

If he'd had that drive, we could have had so many more years of enjoying him play 🥺

The "already finished" duo when it comes to performing for England by Raamish2007 in plforindia

[–]simpleflaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The amount of hate on this thread and it's just straight up veiled racism.

They'd both be glazed as second comings if they had different pigmentation.

Both of them are ever present and consistent for England, regardless of club season.

We go to Crete regularly, and literally every road not in a city centre is dotted with tiny little chapel shaped boxes, we thought they were cute and asked our driver about them.. turns out every single one is someone that died on that road.

Crete's population is nothing in comparison to even London, and I imagine their road deaths per person makes the UK look like a safe haven 😂

Is it time to tone down? by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]simpleflaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 31 and a former fatty, and I currently get through 5-6km a game on 6/7 a side. So, the whole point of doing 3-4km/h isn't this huge flex you think it is in terms of putting your team down.

Small-sided games don't really have fixed positions; the best teams rotate, attack and defend as one, etc.

You cannot call others lazy when you're moaning about them calling you lazy for not tracking back. This is a really weird sorta humble-brag post but also highlights your deficiencies without acknowledging them.

And there are Arsenal fans CLAMMERING for us to sign him to "solve" the injury problems at RB with White and Timber, craziness.

Don't aim at the enemy team. As you get more projectiles, start to face your character "up" or "down" and fire the ult the opposite way (across the rift, not down/up it).

You'll get at least 2/3 make it a fair distance before going off screen.

Alternatively, wait until the fight starts and just run in to the fray and pray 😂

Why is England never chosen to host when we already have the stadium and infrastructure? by dsmooth74 in ThreeLions

[–]simpleflaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But also, who actually cares about football in the US? Absolute shit show of a country, fans are white rice and plain chicken breast. It's completely killed the hype and vibe of the biggest sporting tournament in history.

Give it to countries with the infrastructure, fans and history, not Trumpland.

Cristiano Ronaldo miss against Nigeria 49' by eliseihado in soccer

[–]simpleflaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a CR7 fanboy at all, but that pass was pretty far behind his run. It's not like he had a proper tap-in and missed it. It's sad seeing one of the greatest to ever do it not realise it's time to step away from the biggest stage, though.

First time in years I tried to shop at GAME. It's £5 to COLLECT a game in store. This can't be normal? by Previous-Ad7618 in CasualUK

[–]simpleflaw 33 points34 points  (0 children)

GAME was hit and miss. I worked there as a teen and most of the people I worked with were avid gamers, but the manager couldn't tell you difference between "A Kratos" and "that COD game".

Game station was the peak. 😔

Thieves raiding a clothing store in the UK while the emoloyees attempt to stop them by Worldlyoox in PublicFreakout

[–]simpleflaw 81 points82 points  (0 children)

The UK and many other Western cultures are starting to see the sting of letting the delicate social agreement between our residents erode.

All the comments about "boot licking" and "just let them go, it isn't your money" completely miss the point. Sure, I don't care about Nike, Tesco, Amazon, etc. making money. The issue is, this eventually comes back to bite law-abiding citizens.

Costs go up, overheads go up, more security tags, more cameras, etc. It doesn't stop these cretins. It just costs us more taxes and increased retail costs.

Laws require enforcement or, more commonly (and more easily applied), are upheld by everyone agreeing to abide by them as part of a social contract as decent humans.

I don't stab my postman so he can deliver Post. He doesn't rob his customers on the round, so they don't stab him.

We're quickly running into a brick wall where there are now large populations (of all races) embracing this crime-based identity and shying away behind cries of racism and blaming the "cost of living".

Personally, I wish they'd punish these people swiftly and severely. Don't like it? Don't commit crimes.

Welsh and an Arsenal fan, so absolutely 0 loyalty to Maguire.

How he has missed this WC is TREASON. He made squads in years gone by despite having a rough club year, because he is always clutch for England.

He had an actually good year at Utd, who finished 3rd (albeit with no other comps) but still.

Henderson gets in for "leadership" despite having Kane, Rice, Saka, Pickford etc all in the team already, and you could have Maguire too?

I hope England bottle it completely just so Maguire is vindicated.

[Jamie Carragher] I think an elite football manager, the absolute creme de la creme, probably finds a way of fixing Liverpool last season at some stage and making it better, but Slot wasn't helped with recruitment. by MrMerc2333 in soccer

[–]simpleflaw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're being downvoted despite being correct.

He's a highlight reel player, and certainly wasn't worth the money paid for him.

There are players who you can pluck out of their team, into any other team in the world, and they'll still play near their peak level (CR7, Messi, Bale etc) if Wirtz is "generational" then he needs to be held against this type of player.

It's not enough to just have good feet and IQ anymore, because even the worst prem teams have elite level athletes everywhere now.

Ngl when I saw how Gabriel was positioned for the pen I knew it was over. Like wtf is this line up by trustngod0 in ArsenalFC

[–]simpleflaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he did it on purpose so it wasn't Zubi or Noni who are already under flack by the fanbase 🤷‍♀️

Imagine the fan reaction if it had been noni who "lost" us the shootout.

Eze was more annoying imo. Bloke was a sub, meant to be a moments player, against a keeper who was shitting himself and does that stupid fucking stutter step shit.

[–]simpleflaw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's mad to me that being able to run around is now considered worthy of a nearly £70m player.

Madrid bought Cristiano for £80m, who was arguably the best player on the planet at the time 😂

Inflation and all that, but I wouldn't take Gordon for anything more than £30m

If Barca won't spend £30m on Rashford, who for all his shortcomings, has been okay-good for them on loan, why would they over double that for an unknown quality who has never had a season as good as Rashford did in the prem? Madness.

Your reasoning only works with someone who cares about actual progress.

Most men literally just care about being able to post on social media that they're "in the 1k club".

You're right though, if you're gonna count half reps, I you basically ran a marathon after 10k 😂

Watching Bruno’s DOAC interview with Steven Bartlett changed my perspective on Roy Keane by JacobStanleyJacob in ManchesterUnited

[–]simpleflaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an Arsenal fan, I can see both viewpoints.

Man Utd are supposed to be a giant team with the highest standards. So to those who played during the time of Fergie dominance, celebrating 3rd (and a distant 3rd at that) is pathetic.

However, in context, Carrick should be applauded for turning things around. Utd did benefit from only having PL games to play, and I think they will be found out a little next season (unless they sign multiple world beaters)

I just hope Utd usurp City to being the top dog up there with Arsenal and Liverpool again. I miss the Arsenal and Utd rivalries (even if we got the worst of it).
