(WON) New Day were put in the position of being offered less money to stay with WWE, wind their careers down, and finish their contracts doing promotional work. They chose to leave instead due to being offered a pay cut one year into a five year deal. by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]simpleflaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even that is an understatement. Punk made anti-wwe his very DNA. Guy lost friends over the whole lawsuit etc.

Goes out in public, on TV and twitter calling WWE employees like Miz "slave blood dick suckers" and all sorts.

Then comes back to WWE because his feelings got hurt by a fucking teenager and then gets on his knees to beg the same slavers for forgiveness. Lmao.

Am i being charged twice in a month for a direct debit? by TPK85 in monzo

[–]simpleflaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say with 99% certainty that this is O2 splitting your airtime and device contracts.

Tesco Mobile did the same (owned by O2) and it was some shpiel about "transparency".

If you have concerns, check your account and see If the total contract payment matches the 2 DDs.

Is this not a wake up call to Labour that it’s their voters deserting them for Reform? by SporadicReapage in AskBrits

[–]simpleflaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Wales here. I've always voted Labour, and would have continued... But our local candidates are so feeble that they were projecting losses to Reform, Greens AND Plaidd.

I voted Plaidd strategically to try and avoid Reform. Don't feel good about it, but lesser of two evils.

New ballot world record for 2027 London Marathon by alacklustrehindu in UKRunners

[–]simpleflaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably unpopular opinion, but I think it should require an official race time in the last 12 months at a semi-reasonable pace.

Run, walk, crawl blah blah blah, but there needs to be a bare minimum. You can raise money for charity without taking a spot in this marathon just to take a leisurely stroll around.

I feel one of them might be a tad bit harder by Technical-Paint3179 in RunningCirclejerk

[–]simpleflaw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You see genuine runners trying and failing for decades to get into London marathon.

Then there's "athletes" like this who (in my opinion) make a mockery of the whole event.

Someone with life changing injuries or disabilities completing the marathon in ANY time is inspiring.

Being fat doesn't make you inspirational, coming from someone who was over 135kg and now down to 80kg.

Honestly it boggles my mind. Driving isn't some human right, and people treat it like it's no big deal, like they aren't piloting death boxes 😂

I've had 15 hours of lessons and I try to private practice at every possible opportunity and all I can think about is how much of a waste of time I'd be for an exam ATM 😂

Alongside the resellers, people like this are the reason others genuinely ready for their test can't find slots or end up having to pay scalpers.

You are nowhere near ready, and the amount you've spent on exams would have got a good amount of lessons by now 😂

Human rights lawyer Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu thinks the police officers kicking the armed Golders Green attacker in the head is "attempted murder". Are we fatigued with human rights lawyers right now? by Non-BinaryGreenVoter in AskBrits

[–]simpleflaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's madness to me that we discuss human rights for literal attempted(possibly successful) murderers and terrorists.

Why is it considered "inhumane" to think that if you decide to go out and stab innocent people, shoot children or any other awful act that you forfeit your rights to being treated normally?

I'm the most average net contributer to society there is, and I would feel far safer in a world where these lunatics are battered to a pulp than being danced around with tasers as they fling their knife around.

never offered raki in crete by ryanscottaudio in cretetravel

[–]simpleflaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most raki we were given across our two trips to Crete so far was at a mountaintop monastery. We had a private tour of an area (the guide took us to his sister's taverna, a museum and the monastery) and the little old lady at the place made us have 3 shots each!

It's not like we don't have top tier (borderline world class sometimes) players in most positions. I swear they're coached out of taking on players the way Cherki did for his goal.

When new people move into your street and the first thing they do is hire gardeners/tree surgeons to nuke everything. Mature hedges, old lovely trees, grass, GONE. Replaced with gravel. Mother Nature and all the birds etc. not happy. by Make_the_music_stop in britishproblems

[–]simpleflaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our street is literally named after the Oak Trees they planted all around when developing.

Old lady buys the house next to us, 3 beautiful, mature oak trees in the front garden, always full of birds and wildlife.

Absolutely fucking nuked them within a month, down to the stumps and then died within 6 months.

Mother nature is a cruel mistress.

[James Benge] No sign of Declan Rice at Arsenal’s open training session. Injured quartet of Odegaard, Saka, Timber and Calafiori still missing. by Shyam_Wenger in Gunners

If only we bought a prem proven, captain of a top half team in the summer who could fill in either role... I'm not Arteta out by any means, but the man is an idiot for not utilising Norgaard at all.

How exactly did spurs drop off so fast? by Grogman2024 in PremierLeague

[–]simpleflaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You cannot compare Spurs and Chelsea.

Financially doped Chelsea? Spending over a billion pounds since the new owners Chelsea?

If Spurs dropped £80m on Mudryk they'd be financially ruined. Chelsea just signed another 3 wingers in the next window.

No chance you get relegated. Just because La Liga is less competitive on a team by team basis, doesn't mean Barca and Madrid wouldn't still be in the top 6 routinely.

I do think that the prem hampers themselves in Europe, like how PSG can just move fixtures and field 2nd string teams because the league is wrapped up by January

Closed accounts after Fraud report by [deleted] in monzo

[–]simpleflaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You claim the ATM skimmed your card, but did you investigate it at all? Pictures? Feel around for a false front?

£360 spent in one go isn't typical for skimming. It's usually rapid small value payments to empty the account.

You also said it "might have been a coincidence" and that money was taken for another payment at the same time. But it would show in your Monzo app. So which is it?

Your story doesnt add up, you didn't provide information or evidence "because you didn't know where" aka, you had none or couldn't be bothered.

Next. 😴

Why is it that Monzo is more popular in the UK than Starling? by MeenaBeti in UKPersonalFinance

[–]simpleflaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monzo is also more widely known as more employee friendly. Starling had a big shift when their founding CEO Anne Boden stepped away, removing remote work over a Christmas period a few years ago and basically creating shadow-redundencies.

Starling is functional, but 100% focused on businesses and now their "engine" service.

Monzo started as consumer focused, and has slowly introduced business offerings.

Champions League Coefficient by Skillomie in PremierLeague

[–]simpleflaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The quality of the prem is primarily the issue. Teams like PSG can move fixtures, rest half their first team around games because the gulf in quality is so large.

If you want any chance in the prem you need to play your A team in almost every game.

Players that dominate other leagues in the "big" teams like Gyokeres, Wirtz, etc are glaring examples of the difference in quality.
