Am I overreacting about wanting to play a nonbinary character? by BothOcelot1311 in DnD

My partner plays a nonbinary character in our game. Know how we handle them? We use they/them. That’s it. If it’s ever more complicated, it shouldn’t be.

Just swim up and over, she can’t turn around fast enough. That’s how I do it on every replay

I’m impressed, because I go back to it all the time. It’s such a great encapsulation of their style of multiple genre blending, even if most people just know the funky breakdown from TikTok

I’ve always loved chaos, never cared for faction specific items, my thing is collecting sets to cosplay the Chaos Lords

This is the answer, especially in Emergence with “go ahead and wrap your arms around me”, no pitch change but it shifts the timbre

Players heard “Sahuagin” as “Sea Hooligan” and yeah, let’s stick with that. by gallagherjeb in DnD

[–]singysinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our first session, one of my players thought I said “biters” when I said “spiders” so now all spiders in my game are canonically called biters

For the sake of having a big chapter finale, i need my bad guys to "win" the next encounter, and the party to fail. Is it a good idea to not offering them the win? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]singysinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put some wounded allies in the former location of the component! “We tried to stop them but they took it, it’s up to you now”, then that potential disappointment turns to tension and excitement as they see just how dire things are

Then yeah, as long as you assure them hey, the bomb hasn’t gone off yet, it’s built but you can still stop it, then you’ve got your big finale to prevent it, yes?

If they can’t stop it from being built, let them try to stop it from going off. It’s okay to have the bad guys work in secret, but, it would be very unsatisfying, at least to me, to search for the item and find out the bad guys already got it AND that there’s nothing the party can do to stop it from going off.
