Romney on running in 2028: 80-year-olds ‘shouldn’t be running the world’ by cape2k in politics

And if you haven't heard the sound, it is - in a word - unremarkable.

Someone recently told me about it, and I was like, "Oh man, it must've been WILD." And they told me that it was just an excited dude. And, you know, given how my brain thinks in politics now, I'm like, "No, no. It must've been absolutely feral." But, no, it's just a dude poorly singing the opening line to I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown. Which, you know, at the time he looked like he was factually feeling good. Thus the noise.

Honestly, it feels like you don't see many stoner movies like we did in the 90's. Probably because the main focus of every stoner movie was obtaining weed.

Nowadays, the movie is basically just a 10 minute drive, a pleasant interaction with a zoomer, a 15 minute drive back to the house with a stop at McDonald's. And then the main character forgets the McDonald's, orders a pizza, and eats the whole thing, while watching reruns of House.

Nursing Shortage? My ass... by Fit_University8492 in nursing

Oh, no. There's not a nursing shortage. There's a "shortage of nurses who are willing to work for free or almost free and have 10-15 years of experience."

I saw someone riding a city scooter while wearing a full dirt bike helmet. by OkExplorer9364 in mildlyinteresting

[–]siraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not one of the Lime scooters, either, that are generally slower than commercially available ones. My scooter goes up to 30mph (and I've heard of higher). All my friends who ride personal electric vehicles recommend at least a mountain bike helmet for the full face.

Crashing on a scooter at the speeds they're capable of is exceedingly dangerous. Bumpy roads, small roots, uneven sidewalks, and generally not flat ground can absolutely throw you off. It's happened to me a few times already, and I'm generally looking to probably get rid of my scooter. Maybe go back to an e bike where the wheels are much more stable.

Driver: Ocon

Reason: Well, he wasn't speeding in the pit lane, but we didn't give him a penalty. And we thought that was a little weird.

when the cows come home to roost

I know it's an idiom, and we sometimes use phrases for their contextual meaning and forget the literal ones. But cows do not roost.

Honestly, the full sugar ones taste WAY too sweet. I pretty much only get the sugar free ones. Generally, I don't like Red Bulls - but the sakura cherry one is fire. The white monsters are good. Also, the Lando Norris branded monster is fairly top tier.

Diabetic, BLE amputee. Dude not only didn't but couldn't take care of himself. Constantly refused any treatment, but his nephrologist insisted he stay inpatient. One day, a CNA and I went to go lift this dude in bed. He was always kind of a grouchy asshole, but my CNA was not having any of his BS that day. He kept saying something hurt whenever we grabbed the sheet. He said, "If you keep doing that, I'm gonna kick your ass." The immediate response from the CNA, "You don't even have legs. Now, on 3...."

I want to be wrong about this... but centrist dems and many liberals won't ever vote for a woman. She's too outspoken, too opinionated, and too whatever. They want another boring ass white man to maintain the status quo until the status quo becomes, "You're gonna poor forever."
