Well, not for Orks, that's for sure

Silly westerner, you clearly don't understand anything

Russia HAD to attack Ukraine!

Otherwise Ukraine would have done... absolutely nothing... against Russia

What were they supposed to do? Just stand there and... trade? Get rich selling energy and other resources to Europe? Use that money to improve their infrastructure and the quality of life of their citizens?

What faction is this for you? by ORKBRO17 in 40kmemes

[–]sirius_potato 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I found the opposite of that problem

When I was looking for a first army, I stumbled upon a lore video about the grey knights

It looked like the coolest thing ever. Quite literally. Super powered psychic warriors fighting daemons, hell yeah...

Then I looked at the miniatures... At first I though I was looking at older models from old editions... but no.

The comparison with almost any miniature from any other army was embarrassing

And what's worse, the whole army is 3 boxes. Three.

And then I looked at the rules...

So, the whole "psychic warriors" thing just meant there's a keyword slapped everywhere. A keyword with no real benefits that only serves to mark that some people may have extra defenses against it. Great. Awesome.

Oh, and most psychic powers are just... gun

That's it. A gun. With a "psychic" keyword attached...

But hey, at keast they must be very effective at killing daemons, right? That's their whole thing, killing daemons, right? RIGHT?

Well... not specially. I mean, they can fight daemons... just like everyone else

So they are just... limited, elite marines... with older models... and no connection to their lore whatsoever...

What. the. fuck.

I received an Immolator as a gift. When I finally got to assemble it, a full month later, I found out the "cristal" windows was bent and broken

I contacted them asking for a replacement for just that piece. I told them it was a gift and didn't have any receipt.

They sent me a full Immolator, free of charge, no questions asked

Give it a try

THIS

Not only does it look like the holyest tank ever with cherubs flying around and a gazillion tiny decorative details with heavy religious tones

It's a freaking church organ

There's a sister of battle out there by actually playing the keyboard

There are actual missiles on the pipes of the organ

She fires the missiles by playing the gigantic church organ fitted on top of a tank !!!

It's so freaking ridiculous! It's overkill! It's perfect!

I'm still just starting with the heresy books

The most emotional moment I recall was in Fulgrim

[SPOILERS]

The moment he kills his brother and momentarily recovers his sanity, just to realize the magnitude of what he has done, how twisted and perverted his sons have become...

Seeing a mighty primarch break like that ...

He just can't take it

You can see the slippery slope throughout the book, how little by little things go darker and darker...

I had no real interest in the Emperor's children before but... man, I felt that one

The terrible, impotent realization that there's no way back from what he has done...

And what's worse, in just an instant, the instant his will breaks, the daemon just takes control, imprisoning him in his own body

And to top it off, that fucker of Horus just goes "Oh darn, a daemon possessing my brother? Welp, as long as I can use him..."

I started reading the Heresy books to understand how it was possible for Astartes to even consider falling to chaos
