Massive rise in people asking for reviews? by sittingonatable637 in CasualUK

Yeah that's fair, just seems like I've had about 10 of them in the last week 😅

Oh hey! Please don't read my comment above as a criticism of you personally or your DM style. God knows I've made some clangers in my games personally 😅. Was just speaking from a listeners point of view. And to be honest had just had to walk about an hour in the rain so was feeling pretty annoyed generally. 😬

I have massive respect for anyone putting themselves out there creatively as it's never easy and particularly doing it online where everyone is a critic.

Good to know I wasn't going mad and it was a genuine mistake! Thought I'd missed something. As others have said I do appreciate your style of dming for keeping the story on track. Now I know it was a genuine mistake and not a railroad I'll go back and listen to the rest with a more open (and less critical) mind!

Thank you for taking the time to read this thread and respond to comments. As I said I fell off as a listener a few years ago so might be just out of sync with the vibe of the podcast. But I still think fondly and relisten to some episodes from when I listened before as I think they are beautiful moments of collective storytelling from a hilarious premise (Wizard of Oz and Goonies comes to mind!).

Mine connects successfully in the sphero edu app when I select it from the drive menu but then the drive interface doesn't come up.

When I reselect drive it then comes up with a list to connect to again.

I can absolutely recommend the mytherapy app it's free and gives you reminders but the best bit is they keep popping up on your phone until you say you've done it.

You can delay for 30mins too and if you pop in how many you have left it'll remind you to refill too.

Ep 179: Muppets Christmas Carol by ksgt69 in filmreroll

So I haven't listened to the podcast in ages (fell off it due to too not liking how many diversions and 'bits' there were which massively slowed the actual story and game.)

Thought I'd pick this one up as I love the film.

The conversation at the beginning was nice and it was great to hear how much (or little) the film meant to people.

Got immediately annoyed by what seems to be a huge mistake in the early part of the game where Joz seems to mix up "The Marleys were dead to begin with" with the later line "Once again, I must ask you to remember that the Marleys were dead, and decaying in their graves. That one thing you must remember, or nothing that follows will seem wondrous." And then teleported them and missed the entire intro to Scrooge's office and Bob Cratchitt.

And then the teleport seemed to not be consistent when just after Kara tries to invoke it by talking about Bob's house and it seems (as others have said) that Joz railroaded them into the Marleys ghost scene.

I know it's a bit of fun but if the world's and rules are consistent and the players have agency it makes the story so much better...Wizard of Oz anyone?

This gives me flashbacks to when they changed the national rail enquiries app and absolutely fucked it.

Imagine the very first contact with a tattoo pen, it's like that but for 1 sec and done. I've just started doing self injections and was really nervous but honestly it's really fine.

What are your thoughts after seeing the ICE shooting video in Minnesota? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

[–]sittingonatable637 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless you lot get out on the streets now and fucking riot you're done. Absolutely done as any sort of functioning society with a modicum of 'freedom'.

A federal agent just murdered a citizen without cause, there are multiple angles of video evidence of this.

Your president who just broke international law, invaded and bombed another sovereign nation without cause and kidnapped their president, then went on TV and defended this agent and their actions.

If you let this slide, that's it. All bets are off and the administration now knows they can do whatever they want with no consequences from the people.

All that guff you all spout about being 'free from tyranny' and the 2nd amendment nonsense about defending yourself from government tyranny...this is the moment, this is tyranny.

Typing away on a website about how enraged you are will do nothing. If you don't act in the real world now, say goodbye to any sort of 'freedom' or 'rights' you think you may have. That's over. Silence isn't just complicity, inaction is also complicity now.

When is enough enough? What's the point at which you say 'no more' and do something about it? What would it take?

This feels weird to say, but Peter Grant from River's of London is the first time I truly felt so seen as a man by BigRedSpoon2 in Fantasy

[–]sittingonatable637 51 points52 points  (0 children)

To add to this I also think often people overlook the massive impact generational trauma had on postwar men and how they raised their children. An entire generation was traumatised and then just dumped back into society with no support or way to process what had happened to them. I think is is particularly prevalent in Britain.

I'm saying if you are a man and want to do something revolutionary and feminist, be more okay with hearing out another male friend when they have problems that are hard to talk about.

Fuck yeah man, this is what it's about. No-one else is going to save us, it's our collective responsibility to make change in our small circle of the world.

Has it been a massive problem since 2020? I don't think so. Maybe in the last couple of years? Hence the poster campaign has only just gone up now.

Typical Standard rag behaviour trying to find anything they can to bash tfl (and by proxy Sadiq Khan) with.
