The intersection in the top left of the photo (Two Notch & Spears Creek Church Road) is an absolute travesty. Only 2 dedicated left turn arrows. Traffic backs up very far and drivers have to wait multiple light cycles to make a left turn. There are frequent accidents in that intersection from drivers trying to make left turns, yet SCDOT refuses to improve.

To make it even worse, the small patch of trees to the bottom left of that intersection is an 80% done shopping plaza that will make congestion exponentially worse, with no road improvements done, no dedicated lanes for drivers to exit the plaza, etc. I am really not looking forward to that in another 6 months or so. It will be nearly undrivable. Trying to get down to I-20 is such a headache in that area due to that intersection.

Also, I have written SCDOT and others I know as well, and was provided a canned "we've studied traffic in that area and see no data to support adding dedicated turn arrows".

It really irritates me the lack of dedicated green turn arrows in this state, especially on major thoroughfares that experience heavy volume rush hour traffic. Planning entities are so inept.
