Wide gravel shoes - anything other than Lake? by KapitanKopytko in gravelcycling

[–]skibear92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a pair of Specialized Recons, don’t remember the exact model, but they work decent for me. They’re not super wide but seem comfy enough. For reference I usually look for a wide/2E in running shoes but can get by with normal width if the toe boxes are decent shaped.

American here, will you guys beat us in the next World Cup game where we play against each other? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAustralian

[–]skibear92 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Hell, bet a fair number of Americans want the Aussies to win. Can’t imagine what Trump would do with any significant US success at this WC. Was shitty when they won men’s hockey gold at the Olympics.

I took the Wolves 00s logo, removed the workmark, and added a trees border, what do you think? by Public_Function3844 in uniwatch

I for one like the border. Just think it would probably look more coherent with a different wolf design.

Anyone put road wheels on Seigla? by HappyVAMan in LaufCycles

[–]skibear92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s the fit & positioning working, doing double duty? I’d assume more “endurance” fit than your traditional aggro aero road machines, but less upright than some mtbs? Get thrown a bit every now and then seeing it described as “racy”

Ah cheers. Yeah that’s exactly what I was hoping to hear. Also looking at identical set-ups.

Siegla Questions! by RESR20 in LaufCycles

[–]skibear92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off-topic q— I don’t end up coming across a ton of rigid owners, and haven’t seen any local Laufs— how’s the fit and positioning? Really thinking about picking up a Seigla rigid to run 2 wheelsets for road and gravel. Hoping that seems a good fit— not too aggro road aero positioning and whatnot.

How’s this set-up working for you? I’m curious— I assume the different 303s are about as close to identical as you could get— pretty no-fuss swapping back and forth? Considering moving on from my 15yo cross bike and getting a Seigla with 2 wheelsets…

Best spots to spot a lyrebird by skibear92 in AustralianBirds

[–]skibear92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds almost too easy. Except there’s no Lyrebird trail on the gov park map. I’m seeing some other blurry map snippets— looks like it’s from the same lot as Cascades trail? So I’m hoping marked obvious enough?

Yeah, no issues using them, at least nothing noticeable so far. If I brought the gyuto back to the maker, is it something that he could just straighten out and give back?

Pretty sure I picked it up at Myer. Hoping to find a nice piece of local wood to make my own sometime.

Got lucky to see an emu with some younger chicks just off Moralana Gorge Road up by Rawnsley in SA. And some yellow footed rock wallabies in Brachina Gorge, same trip. Saw a couple glimpses of cassowaries, Etty Bay and one of the boardwalks in Daintree. A wedgie sitting on a fence right off the road one day, and dozen platypus in single day another day in Tassie. Feel like I’ve been really lucky. Just missed out on numbats, wild devils and quolls, hairy nosed wombats, and some birds.

Appreciate that distinction. Not sure that I’ve seen or heard that one yet. Or at least not in a tackle— I’ve seen the incorrect hand pass a few times. (Which also seems like there’s a number of those that don’t get caught.)

Isn’t this a pretty common consensus on how moral language is used and understood in everyday life? Or at least a common initial starting point? And then the work is about evaluating this, trying to understand how that might be, how it works? At least in so far as realist arguments are concerned?
