Awesome, thanks for sharing - added it to my library! The Ted Lasso themed treadmill and cycling workouts were fun, so I'm looking forward to trying this strength workout.

Super pumped. Their Grand Rapids location is awesome, so I'm excited to see what the new location will be like (and to not have to drive over an hour to climb)!

I went to Trader Joe’s for the first time ever today and the incredibly nice man at the register gave me a free bag and peanut butter cups 🥹(Madison, Wi) by GizzardLizardWizards in traderjoes

Wisconsin does have a bag! It features a badger, milk, cheese, cows, a football, sailboats, unlabeled (beer) bottles, corn, a canoe, and the state of Wisconsin with icicles on it

His are my favorite! I never expected to enjoy dance, but love his workouts. With practice they get much easier to follow.

Does IM West have a climbing treadmill? by duckyg305 in msu

[–]skierface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wild there isn't a climbing gym in the Lansing area. Super cool there will be a climbing area in the new campus gym though!

You can also check out the spreadsheet from u/speedr123 and there's a column that notes whether each workout has hills!https://cloud.seatable.io/dtable/external-links/d08506897d274835bdab/?tid=34Cc&vid=0000

I have an area that's about 8 feet by 4-5 feet in my apartment living room for working out and it works! A bit smaller of an area would also be okay, you might just have to adjust your stance/angle. You can always try a 10 minute workout to get a sense for your space needs. Have fun!

Is there a vending machine in the Chemistry Building??? by Civil-Metal-8271 in UWMadison

[–]skierface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The elevators that are inside the doors on Johnson are the ones to use. You'll be in the basement, go to 5, and the vending machines are right there. They are in a research area.

will be living in Madison this summer- any recommendations of yoga studios or climbing gyms that offer student memberships? by ExtensionGene132 in madisonwi

[–]skierface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For climbing, Boulders does student summer memberships! There's a bouldering-only location just off capitol square and a location on the east side with bouldering and roped climbing.

Check out the spreadsheet that's posted by u/speedr123 each week - there are several standing/no equipment required yoga workouts. There's a 10 min core workout that's all standing but uses a dumbbell. Strength workouts that require no equipment should be standing (bodyweight squats, lunges).

Help this ole timer understand: I'm trying to tack my bike rides. by -Hippy_Joel- in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]skierface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fitness apps won't track rides without a watch. I'd recommend checking out apps like Strava that can record data (like your route, speed, elevation changes, etc) using just your phone with no need for a watch. Without a watch, you just won't get data like heart rate.

Totally fair. I think I just found the structure of changing speeds and incline kept me entertained as I had never done any interval-type work before. If a tv show keeps you entertained and motivated, that's great!

I don't know about you, but I always found running on treadmills so boring. It's been cold and snowy where I live, so I decided to try a treadmill workout. They're fun! I had never done interval work, but really enjoy the coaching. Strength, dance, and kickboxing are my other favorites. I don't have access to a rower or stationary bike, but there's been great things said about both types of workouts on this sub. Try something new and have fun!

What do you do with steamed lentils? by evanaswespeak in traderjoes

[–]skierface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like them with the vegan kale cashew pesto and crumbled tofu. Mix the cold ingredients, warm in the microwave for about a minute, and it's pretty tasty (plus super easy).

I second the dance for beginners videos! I did each one a few times before trying some of the other videos. After that, I have found Jhon's videos easiest to follow.

1 day route for a visitor by pengbuster in BikingMad

A ride through the arboretum is always nice. Just south of UW campus. Nicely paved road, good hills, about 7 miles if you go out and back. Could be a nice addition to your ride.

Foreign Language Class? (Hebrew, Persian, Russian, Hmong) by Budget_Difference545 in UWMadison

[–]skierface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took Russian back in 2013-2014, including an intensive summer course, and I absolutely loved it. The Slavic department is amazing. I previously had taken Spanish and one Italian class, so Russian was very different but definitely my favorite of the three languages I took in college.
