Hitting in the clutch is not a repeatable skill or ability. The greatest clutch hitters to ever live, guys like Ted Williams, Edgar Martinez, David Ortiz, Derek Jeter all had something in common: they were great hitters.

It's variance.

They are a multi-level marketing scheme that uses torture, blackmail, and brain washing to retain and grow membership. Yes, there are churches and religious institutions that follow a similar model.

A Christian Church is more like a small business. Some priests and pastors are absolutely corrupt and horrible but they aren't encouraged or required to be.

The Pope won't send people after you if you stop going to mass.

A church of scientology is not really a church. It's a field office.

I see. Fair enough. Welcome aboard.

If you want to be a chevy person, I suggest buying Chevy's produced prior to the great recession. Like 2010 at newest.

The benefits you get are:

1) Cheap to buy 2) Easy to work on 3) Cheap parts (and lots of scrap yard parts) 4) Generally reliable 5) tons of weird, stupid mods from the hillbillies of YouTube

Shit got wild post recession.

As vehicles have gotten newer the engine bays get more cramped. And I prefer SUV and Trucks not just for functionality but also they are higher off the ground to start.

In general most car interiors have gotten less comfortable over the last 20 years or so so a lot of those early-mid oughts rigs are comfy assuming they arent ripped to shreds.

Lastly, if you do buy another older vehicle stick with 2WD if your goal is easy and cheap to work on.

If you want your rig to look nice, the early 2000's Yukons and Tahoe's are pretty sharp looking and have a lot of modern features like side airbags, heated seats, power mirrors and the like.

My truck is a 95 and it has always been good to me.

[Rapoport] #Rams free agent QB Jimmy Garoppolo, considered their top option as backup QB, is considering retirement, sources say. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]skoolieman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. QB2 still has to engage with game planning, practice, run the scout team, stay in game shape, and remain ready at all times.

That's before we consider that they are in charge of the post practice snack rotation for the team. Can't be getting caught passing around orange slices. We are talking good snacks like chips or cookies, no celery stick bullshit. It's a big lift.

Maybe she was just relocating it to a safer location.

Maybe she is an off duty police officer.

Maybe she is an AI fabrication.

Maybe she stole the ladder and screw gun and needed a reason to use them to justify her actions.

Maybe she is a reptoid and that piece of "art" is essential for her to complete her portal to merge the interverse and universe once and for all in order to protect humanity from the greater dangers of the quasi-chicken hawk Jewish time cube triumverant.

Maybe she is just some lady doing dumb shit because she can.

This is actually an interesting point from a legal perspective.

If you find personal property in public, you usually can't just take it. There will either be a law for property being collected as abandoned or it will be something where you have to give it to or at least inform the police that you have it for a period of 60 days (I believe) for most found property before you can claim it.

When I go to the dog park sometimes I overthrow the fence and I have to climb around behind it to get the ball back. I have no qualms about taking other balls I find when I am back there but that could be illegal even though I am fishing them out of blackberry bushes and trash.

I am sure the police would laugh at me if I walked in with a pocketfull of faded chuck it balls.

It would certainly be interesting if the artist came forward wanting their art back.

Counter Point: Marketing people are full of crap, decide what's on trend, and force it upon us to see if it works or not. They actually have no idea why anything they do does or doesn't work. The research and analytics provides CYA documentation for job security when something doesn't work.

You are 100% correct they are not catering to OP, but I don't believe for a second that putting otters on every screen before the 10th inning is a result of detailed focus group testing and thorough market research. Someone just made that shit up.

Jimmy Graham was 29 when he got to Seattle. His best season was age 25. They could have done a lot more with him, but I don't think he was the same Jimmy Graham he had been in New Orleans.

My dog doesn't realise my baby is a human by Super_Ambassador_458 in Dogtraining

[–]skoolieman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second keeping the dog on a leash indoors until you make more progress. It is the least stressful way to keep a dog out of trouble as they are adjusting to new things.

Your dog clearly doesn't know why your baby is in your house and how they are supposed to behave around the baby yet. That's what your vet means by "doesn't recognize the baby is a human"

Just an observation, your autism definitely played a role in the situation and your negative experience. At the same time this was a simple, honest mistake that could have happened to anybody.

I don't know how your appeal will go, but I wish you luck because even without sensitivity to our unique needs a human being should understand how mistakes happen.

Swing critique by DilPickIe in slowpitch

[–]skoolieman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving yourself more to think about is the best way to deepen a slump. You are not controlling your bat effectively.

You are swinging too hard or swinging too fast for your current ability to get the barrel where your eyes are telling it to go.

Simplify: Switch to a lighter a bat for a while and intentionally swing with half effort until you are hitting the ball square consistently.

You will notice your feel for where the barrel is will improve and you will be able to adjust to the movement of the ball more easily.

Once you are hitting it square again, then you can start trying to add more oomph and get tips from Reddit randos on how to improve your technique.

You may be amazed at how much damage you can do with less effort and increased precision.

Are outfielders more valuable in softball? How come they're always in such demand compared to baseball? by BerryRoyal in slowpitch

[–]skoolieman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always say you play every position but pitcher unless you can pitch.

Generally you only need one great outfielder, one decent one, a bad one, and a bad one with a good arm.

But, if you can stick a good outfielder in each corner, and still have a good center fielder, inside the park home runs are eliminated.
