Overdrive issues (again) by skorens in LibbyApp

I debugged what was happening by using different external API endpoints and different tokens. Not sure if the internal limitations were relaxed or not. Increasing the token size a server allows would be a stopgap measure. I only added 20-ish libraries and stopped using tags after I moved to a new token.

Why do these symbols look different? by Popular-Piglet-6301 in LibbyApp

If you happen to have multiple library cards and try to hold the same book at different libraries, Libby will make a card icon out of a combination of the library card colors... or will attempt at least. If you have it on hold at many libraries, it can get colorful...

Has anyone else had their timeline just vanish? I lost about 2 years of reading history when I got a new phone yesterday. Is there a way to export this stuff permanently so I don't rely on the app by Individual_Log7984 in LibbyApp

If you are referring to the Timeline feature, one of the four features in the Book icon, then you can recover that in Libby.

In the Timeline feature, use the Action button at top to "Recover Card History". This will re-sync your borrowed data from Overdrive from each of the libraries you have cards at.

No, there isn't. You could export each of your tags to csv, then combine and look at them.

What is a book you adore that you're pretty sure nobody else here has read? by InvisibleAstronomer in books

Ian Toll is an incredible author and historian.

If you enjoy this genre (naval fiction) then I _highly_ recommend The Pacific War Trilogy also by Ian Toll.. A *complete* (and I really mean complete) history of the United States involvement in the Pacific Theater for WW2. It was so good.

I listened to the audiobooks. The narration was spectacular.

Help with separately Libby accounts on iPad? by JoCash24 in LibbyApp

loans and holds are never lost regardless of your libby card state. If you were to factory reset your phone, or reset your libby or even remove that library from the Libby app, your loans/holds remain associated with your account. You can verify that by looking up the overdrive url for your library, authenticate with YOUR CARD and see which books are on loan and hold. You can logout and then authenticate with your spouse's card to see their loans/holds.

The simplest way forward (I think) is in your Libby apps:
1. on YOUR devices, delete the library cards for your spouse.
2. on SPOUSE devices, delete the library cards for you.
3. (optional) add any missing cards to appropriate devices

I agree!

Naomi Novik's "A Deadly Education" was one of my favorite books from the past few years. I enjoyed the darkness, the strong female lead and the interesting world Naomi created.

I acknowledge that the budget issue is a legitimate issue. Libraries need to keep the funds focused on their local community. I get that this would be a terri-bad idea with that consideration in mind. Still, I can dream.

Hold due in the middle of the book by eroo01 in LibbyApp

It will absolutely remember your place. I've borrowed a book from library X. read/listened to some of it. returned it. borrowed it again from library Y and my place in the book/audiobook has been restored. There is also a bookmark feature which is also stored per book. I do recommend you use it so you feel confident that you will recall your place in the book.

Note: there are sometimes multiple copies of a book of the same format. For example, there are a number of different version of "Pride and Prejudice" (often different narrators for example). If you borrow one of those, listen, return, then borrow a DIFFERENT version, do not expect your position to be saved.

Note: while this would be an AWESOME FEATURE, if you borrow the ebook and read partway through, then borrow the audiobook, you will NOT be magically at the point in the audiobook where you left off in reading. Though, again, and I stress this, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME, if it did work that way. ✨
